3 wildfires burning in Smithsburg, MD due to lighting strikes outside the rain area of the storm. Hopefully will be contained.

MDT could get their low for the day in the next hour or two.

Check the radar over the last 60 min and watch what went wrong here. LOL. We did get .01" and actually a few hail pellets. Maybe that same area of cells you mentioned clips me.

That line of storms is the heatwave breaker according to most progs. Temps stay in the 80's tomorrow on most suites even in the SE LSV...as we head into a drought denting weekend.

85 here at noon. Initially it was going up faster today as we were over 80 before 10AM but clouds have held it back a bit now.

Yea, it only takes a matter of days or maybe a week with no rain to ditch the grass when it is getting full sun. We have only had 1/4" of rain since Aug 14th.

12Z HRRR has some fairly hefty activity this afternoon but most East of the Susky. 3K more generous to the D1 drought areas in Adams and Franklin.

Some smaller cells did go through Western Franklin County up into the MSV last night. May be related.

I have been keeping my grass alive, albeit it against the rules, so would like some rain to help let it sleep for the winter. In 2020 I lost a large part of my yard and had to re-sod.

Like the GFS, the EURO out past 48 has recently had a penchant to white wash large areas with qpf when in actuality it was forecasting isolated or scattered cells. Here is hoping a stalled front and a new season change the tune

I think the LSV sees storms tonight/early tomorrow though probably west of you. Then tomorrow everyone is in the game.

York Municipal Water customers now under water restrictions due to the level at Lake Redman. Well Drillers in Southern York County are overwhelmed with people's wells running dry. Some of this news is a bit under reported.

Looks like MDT topped out at 94. 88 here....CXY 97 or 98....THV 96 or 97.

Both CXY and MDT have vacillated up and down from the peak over the last 30 main so may be near top as both stations reporting little to no clouds. MDT actually snuck a 94 in between readings/round up at some point earlier.

This RGEM map is a great example of how hard the forecast looks for the LSV on Friday. I have to get a roof on at a place, so it is a personal worry here.
