  1. I am not sure anyone has less than me except possibly Atomix. I doubt I get more than one more mow in (not counting leave mulching.). I have an old mower called the Yard Pig which does the leaf mulching.
  2. Ended up just under .9" here with a nice burst early this AM. Give me about 18" for the year now. 54 this AM.
  3. 13 games to go. A 6-game lead would not be enough to cash in the ticket at this point.
  4. Up to .6" of sweet, sweet slow falling rain. This is better for the yard than two 1" storm dumps.
  5. About .25 now. WU confirms as such. High totals to me NW, East and NorthEast but frankly it is the soaking that matters here to me though the water auth does need more than this to start pulling back on restrictions.
  6. Just based on models, not forecasting, it could still be raining in some manner tomorrow AM for rush hour. .20 so far for the day. A slow soaking .20. More to come.
  7. It is already one of the best rains since last spring/winter. Not totals as much as the soaking type. Thanks!
  8. Oh I remembered. HaHa. I was taking the other side and saying I am cool with your side too. LOL. This rain is now settling in here to a rainy Sunday. Hard to remember the last time we had a nice, soaking rainy day. No fretting over dBZ's and your hood, no worry about under the trees....just a good soak.
  9. I think it is bad for the grass to cut too far below 2.5" so those of us struggling to grow a yard usually let it roll a bit higher. I appreciate what you other guys do though.
  10. Speaking of that, I dropped in #12 last though I only did about 1/2 the yard. The only mows going forward will be leaf chopping which I do not count. Only 12 mows over 6 months of mowing season. Kind of crazy.
  11. Wow. Made me go to Wunderground. Down to 64 here now as the rain is on approach. Have an inversion event here with the higher areas being much warmer.
  12. Radar looks great and both HRRR and 3K have it raining on and off for about 20 hours from mid-morning through early AM tomorrow. A true soaker if it plays out. 1/2-1" totals on both for many areas of southern PA. A balmy 66 this AM. On the surprise factor scale, this would be like getting a 4-8" snowstorm 3 days after the forecast said today would be sunny and 60.
  13. Meso wise, the 12Z HRRR and 6Z Nam3K both have a better surface reflection over PA, so the qpf is really amped up vs. some previous progs that were mostly showing us getting the northern end of the southern vort. Nothing has fallen yet but the Rgem is looking for a nice pat on the back if that happens as it was on the case 2 days ago. Both are also starting rain by mid-morning now for the Western and Central PA areas.
  14. A few days ago we were staring at a week plus of dry so definitely encouraging as of this AM.
  15. It started about Tuesday here...if you take a drive over to Walmart in R-Ville you will see them. No where near peak yet but by Sept 25ish it appears it will be quite orange/red. My yard is partially covered now in Maple Leaves. It very well could be "pushed on" by dry conditions. I am not overly in the know with the whys on foliage. I think I mentioned before but I think the globals as a whole have been not good with qpf this summer. Especially down our way. I have had 2-3 flood watches now with just a T or nothing to show. Understand convection is a crap shoot but the globals broad brushed way too much qpf several times. Had you noticed the same?
  16. Let's see if it can redeem for us down here. 1/2" of rain would set up my yard to go into its winter slumber with a good drink. Even Short Pump gets in on the action. Leaves are starting to fall fast here. Next two-three weeks will be peak this year.
  17. 46 for the low again this Am. Was out early and it was chilly with a breeze in the 5-10 range.
  18. My shingles were so old, the fiberglass was coming out in many places which basically left me no shot of getting insurance to pay even if I had damage. The guess was 25-30 years old.
  19. My neighbor had amish do his roof and he had to go pick them up and take them home. LOL. Slate is cool. I like the way it looks.
  20. Yea, not sure any asphalt shingles are 50 year regardless of what they say....they do make metal shingles but again those would be 40-50K for a house like mine.
  21. For those following Roof talk, I also found out that even if you are missing shingles, your roof has to be "young enough" to be covered under many insurance policies. So, if you have the 3-tab type roof which is not put in much anymore, anything 15 and over and many insurances will deny the claim or pro-rate. 20 years and older for arch shingles.
