  1. It is the first step in the progression....showing up on the 10+ days means it is coming some time. That is still first half of October so would not be too shabby,
  2. Yea, good point on the fronts. I am more in the game now....fronts are more to my liking here. GFS and Euro have a nice front next weekend (would ruin late Fri/early Saturday though.)
  3. My guess is that the grass does not show the strain as quickly this time with less sun/shorter days but if it does not rain tomorrow, by mid-week I expect browning. These big 2" rains and then nothing for 10 days does not work for the grass unfortunately.
  4. Get out the hose again. Veggies needed watered this AM. My grass has grown some so mow #14 is definitely on the docket maybe next week.
  5. Models have really backed down on rain totals. Could be a dry 7-10 days ahead after anything we get tomorrow.
  6. They both backed down a bit to show low to mid 80's next week vs. approaching 90. Euro concurs though the details are a bit different. GFS and Euro head us into a nice fall period after this heat as a trough digs in from the NW. CMC not so much as the ridge hold on well into next weekend.
  7. Totally agree and I have seen all 3 (CMC, EURO and GFS) show greatly anomalous temps that often fail to produce both in cold and warm seasons, but at this stage/based on current data, some 80's do seem likely next week so was surprised our group warminista's had not pointed the higher possibilities out.
  8. The one and the same though the CMC has it as well just a different day (Fri instead of Wed). The chance of being ~20 AN is the real headline IMO.
  9. Time to roll out the "let's get it out of the way now before winter" speech.
  10. Per the latest GFS, the "Heat Wave" next week would feature a day with MDT getting up to near 90 which would be 20 degrees above normal if it reached that figure. Has parts of Wisconsin getting to 95-100.
  11. The atmosphere is the most fun, thanks. Saturday was really the only "bad day". We drove up to Cape Henlopen/Lewes on Saturday and when the rain stopped for a short bit, we ended up on this small beach named "Johnnie Walker Beach" which was when we saw someone with a handheld wind meter and felt sustained over 50 for about 10 min when we had enough and got back in the car. If the sand were dry, it would have been a sand blasting. I did not see any whiskey though. In all seriousness, the beach is named after a Lewes community member that had a restaurant there at one point.)
  12. We are indeed back to drizzly 'Ville. We got one good beach day in on Thur.
  13. Was at Cape Henlopen today and someone had a handheld wind gauge. Sustained it was reading 52. Not much for gusts....just sustained, pounding wind. This is as much about the interaction with the high to the north vs. being near the center of the storm.
  14. More rain here in OC today that I was expecting based on Meso's. 2-3" now (storm total)
  15. Wundermap. Center in the area you want then change the option from temps to Precip. It is a network of weather sensors. WunderMap® | Interactive Weather Map and Radar | Weather Underground (wunderground.com)
  16. The Good Ole trusty HRRR says most of the rain is done in OC MD. A nice break for activities as long as stuff did not close.
  17. I thought the gfs was suggesting Ophelia comes back next weekend....In relation to this plot showing it diving south. Just came back in....the sea is angry my friends.
  18. It is like a sand blasting machine. Winds out of the NE. It took my beer and threw it in the ocean (cup).
