Yea, not only could the temps be near record levels, records are definitely in play based on progs right now. The CMC has 4 days in play...the GFS was 1 or 2.
And for today, some locales in the LSV may top 70 (local therms if not NWS spots).
Usually, I mention and Cashtown shows a radar showing the line punching up between my ridge and the ridge out near McConnellsburg and about 15-30 min later, he goes to sleet...Carlisle is usually next as well as some of the Lanco people. If the LP is off to the coast to our SE then I do not have to worry about this situation but all these app runners the last few years have made it quite common.
It is already 45 here. The South Westerly's are coming...I am always the first to "enjoy" them being so high in altitude. Basically what @mitchnick said.
How often would you have an Oct with no 30's? Stats wise MDT is exactly 2 AN right now. That number seems likely to rise later this week with possibly 20-25 degree AN high temp deviations but will still not end up anywhere near Oct 2021 which was 6.6 AN (Canderon's 8 year.). MDT's low in Oct 2021 was 43 which is also their low for this month at this point.
The Thur through Sun temps shown above are all within 2-4 degrees of the current record. The amount varies a bit between the days. Softest record is 79 on Thur and Sun.
Verbatim model discussion only, some op progs show 80's around lunch and still rising. Some records could be challenged if anything like that plays out.
CMC has CXY hitting 80 four times in the next 7 days...GFS 3. Does it happen? I feel safer saying CXY does it twice. Lots of high temp records on the line if the 12Z Globals are somewhat accurate.
Tack on .1" overnight and 48 degrees. Pretty mild for late Oct.
@mahantango#1 are your carpet and tile guys telling you what the models are showing for Wed-Sun. Not necessarily all 5 days but different progs focus on 2-3 day periods.
Shame that worked out that way...would have been better if phils win game 4 and ari game 5 so you could have seen a victory while our friends here still get their 3-2 lead
