  1. Made it to 26 here but back up to 29 now as clouds moved in.
  2. The monthlies are in :-). (Yesterday's CFS)
  3. Nooners. 41 and Mostly Sunny. Still have some small pile snows and shade snow is going strong and will make it until tomorrow.
  4. It is sometimes. Once in Florida we had to play with sleet falling and temps in the low 30's. It was not fun, but we did it. I wore gloves. Usually, I will play if it is 40 or above. The ball does not travel well in the dense cold air and string breaks are all too common.
  5. Wind chill in the teens goes beyond my shorts wearing fare unless sports are being played. Meso's starting to ramp up Sat winds a bit.
  6. Well, you know I do not prescribe just to tellies. I just do not think we go into a forever warmth starting in Feb. The definition of cold could come up again re the average high on March 15th is 51 so some may say highs in the low 40's is cold. I suspect MDT has a day or two in the second half of March that does not go over 40. Whether it snows in March is not something that is predictable in my mind, but I think the temps will allow a chance for it at some point. Queen's, "Radio Ga Ga" Misheard Lyrics: All we hear is radio caca, radio cuckoo, radio caca All we hear is radio caca, radio la la Radio, what's new? Original Lyrics: All we hear is radio ga ga, radio goo goo, radio ga ga All we hear is radio ga ga Radio blah blah, radio, what's new?
  7. I feel that the second two weeks of March could be cold and maybe snowy. Hate that it melts so quickly then.
  8. Some mesos's predicting it stays in the 20's for some of the LSV Saturday. Not record setting at all but if MDT tops out at 32 or less it would be the 6th coldest high temp recorded for the Winter of 23-24. A stat that really shows how NOT cold it has been.
  9. It is the new word of the season (for me at least): Shade snow. Temps have not been too warm the last several days so the shade protects the pack.
  10. 24 and a moderate frost this AM. Mesos have a little energy dropping in to the trough this weekend so may be some mood flakes for south PA especially the west side.
  11. LOL, he says this Saturday will be brutally cold. If winter is over, I want to wear shorts :-) .
  12. Looks at the cold coming and the current grass state, mow number 1 here is April at the earliest and maybe May.
  13. To clarify, my report card is for met winter.
  14. It is about time you got here. I have been taking the floggings today for not giving up on winter. Tag, you're up.
  15. Dec 16th, 2020, had 9.3 at MDT. Feb 1. 2021 banged 7.9" then several smaller events that month. I bring those two up as both are more than any winter day since that season.
  16. I have seen some comments of the last several winters being bad....20-21 MDT actually received 36" of snow in just Met winter alone making it 28th snowiest Met winter in MDT's history. The last 2 have been stinkers snow wise.
  17. From memory most forecasts I remember were predicting above average snow and at least one Mecs or Hecs. It was not supposed to be warmer than last year either as to hype. Would probably need to double our current snow total to get to where most forecasters predicted this winter due to El Nino.
  18. I would not argue with anyone that claimed this winter was worse than last winter....snow obviously better this year but last winter featured more days below 40, and colder lowest temps for both lows and highs. The lowest low this year was only 1 degree lower than the lowest high of 15 Winter 2022-23. There is a potential daytime high below 40 coming up this weekend and included in my count. I think most people would rate this winter ahead of last winter but temps and hype were worse this year IMO.
  19. This is what happens when a group of people do not get enough snow jobs to keep them satisfied.
  20. Fortunately, I do not make my way to Altoona too often.
