If the dry models/ridge centered closer to LSV are right, I just completed my final mow until probably mid-July and it was only a 2/3 mow. Quite nice out. 76 and breezy. Windows open LSV tonight. 18Z GFS, highest 18Z Temp at MDT through Friday is 88. Not posting these to say it is right vs. keeping the giant differences in front as it will be interesting to watch this play out. Showers around LSV Tue and North PA most days next week.

If it were me doing the real forecast right now, I would not predict anything over 95 through Thursday (LSV) knowing some back yard therms will break it but the overall area temp averaged out.

The GFS is still hot, it is just not 95-100 hot except next Sat. The CMC has not really been across the board either though it is a touch warmer at 12Z and has several days over 95 now. The Euro is the only model that has consistently backed the predicts of record-breaking temps. Check this out.

It was the leader (from what I saw) in flagging the heat wave this past week as being false. It was too low today though. It was 82-83 when I left Dillsburg which is 3-4 higher than the gfs had it for today. Of course using the gfs for temps 24 hours out is not the best plan.

On my phone so quick scan, but looks like the next day GFS is over 90 at 18z for MDT is next Sat. Thur looked 85-86 I think.

18Z Wed Compare. These are 2PM Temps so usually add 2-4 if not cloudy (for highs).

I think some of it is the punting of the possible intense heat, due to a small change in ridge alignment, to 6 days from now vs. early next week. GFS has been cutting back on precip some. A few days ago the Euro was showing 100 at 18Z on Wed. Now it is better aligned with the others showing low to mid 90's at 18Z though still 3-5 too high compared to the GFS/CMS. CMC has us in the 70's and low 80's but next Sat and Sun so there is an out here where no records are challenged.

6Z GFS continues to keep things from going crazy next week with 18Z temps 90 or under until a day or two above next weekend. It is also wet in northern LSV/PA. If you will allow for 5-degree deviations, it has been steady as she goes for a week now. 18Z in the mid 70's tomorrow. Euro still generationally hot next weekend.

GFS and CMC still ho humming the heat wave with 18Z temps being near 90 until 7 days out when the CMC goes crazy with 100's. GFS mid 90's next weekend. GFS has 1/4 to 1/2" of rain next week for the LSV.
