Its actually pouring here. We had more rain in the last 15 min than the last almost 3 weeks combined. Edit 3/4" in 30 min. Nice grass watering. Hopefully Cash's Course gets the same later.

The reports I saw showed some stations in the MSV reporting between 1-2" yesterday over an hours period. Ironically York county apparently got slammed yesterday with both York and Mt Wolf reporting over 2". Mt Wolf's immediate neighbor, Manchester, only reported .87" so a sharp cutoff of over 1" difference.

I am loving the daily GFS qpf maps which continue to say I should be sitting on over an inch of rain since Thursday. Euro as well. We have quite the arsenal of quality forecasting guidance to count on! <Snicker> When we went into a moderate drought last summer my local water authority took away the rights to water our lawns and I think it is coming again next week without some major downpours this weekend.

I saw several flood or flash flood warnings on the nws map but did not investigate further. Like @Cashtown_Coop said...completely skipped over southern LSV.

Had a nice downpour this AM, A bit less than a 1/4" total. A grass watering at least.

Its been the last 3 weeks mostly. It has practically not rained in the majority of those counties for close to a month now. Just a couple very light events. And with the very dry weather recently it has sapped the moisture out of everything.

MDT is down to 14 days left to avoid breaking the "seasonal" snowfall record!

I agree with you that over here in the Western LSV the weeds have not been too bad whether due to it being dry or otherwise. This great weather has actually made the beginning of the drought worse here as the Sun is near its peak now regardless of the temps so the combo of dry air and max sun is drying out the soil at a faster rate than what I think is normal for early summer. I have had to do little weeding which is a plus!

Ouch, that is ugly. Hopefully it did not have fish. NWS AFD points out the drought conditions this AM and suggests late week is not going to help but I am trying to be positive and hope for some downpours. Its still early and we can get out of this with just a decent rain. If we miss out and it persists into July we will be looking at severe crop damage.

Yea, we are way behind right now so mid and late summer will need to be wet. I do realize most of the LSV saw quite a bit of rain last week so I am getting too whiny about it. LOL. We were in a drought last year but later in the season. The temp and general weather has been beautiful as suggested just tired of having to water every night to save the stuff we planted. If the GFS is right we should start to square away a bit as we start into Mid Summer over the next few weeks so that is a possibility though I do have a bit of a chip on my shoulder after the GFS showed us getting 10+" and we got 1/4".

The Western LSV will probably be officially declared in a drought on Thursday though I did not watch radar every day for Adams and Cumberland.

Get out your fan and push that stuff north. I think I am in the minority of being dry though I suspect @Cashtown_Coop 's golf course is doing a lot of watering. I was in Gettysburg yesterday and many peoples lawns looked like they sprayed roundup on them. Enjoy your time. I am not going anywhere that far south until the Covid numbers start going back down! LOL. I faced a wrath of negativity after my Florida trip two weeks ago. No one up here wants anything to do with what they are now going through down there.

So we have had 1/4" of rain in the last 16-17 days. Thursday looks promising on the GFS but not so much on the EURO. Euro has this area going into a full blown moderate drought. Edit-Euro caved the GFS for Thursday at least LSV wise. Brings much needed moisture back into the area.
