  1. 46 here this AM. Mesos's have the highs for today and tomorrow within 1-2 degrees of each other in the upper 70's and low 80's so both days record of 81 are on watch though MDT continues to run slightly behind other NWS stations on average. Highest stations I saw yesterday were MUI with 71 and CXY with 69. Most others near the LSV were at 67 which was exactly what the zones called for. Globals continue to advertise more 80's next week.
  2. You have 2-3 days in a row with highs in the 70's and 80's. Cherish! LOL.
  3. Although it was a real temp, I let that one sit out there. LOL
  4. We have been stuck at 69 now for a good 90 min so peaking....several WU 70's over here so may get one more degree out of it. MUI is up to 71 or 72.
  5. The American Meteorological Society (AMS) discourages the use of the term and suggests using "Second summer" instead
  6. They Dodged being run over in the Series. Up to 68 here.
  7. Haha. Plus, if we blow the wad on the designation this week, what do we call next week?
  8. So is this Indian Summer? LOL? (The LOL for the seemingly yearly discussion)
  9. Yea, now that you say that the Friday Am DP's on the rgem are in the low 60's for much of the LSV.
  10. EB Nooners. 63. For Friday, it would not be a midnight high as the front will probably come through eventually (though it keeps delaying the timing making Friday a mid 70's day) but these temps near midnight are about as obscene as you can get for Nov 1. 10 higher than the current min max for the date.
  11. A mild 43 for the low this Am. Shooting for some 70's today and low 80's in hot spots tomorrow.
  12. Brett Thackara apparently had insider info and is over here enjoying my latest delivery
  13. Ephrata Voluntary water restriction https://www.wgal.com/article/lancaster-county-voluntary-water-restrictions-in-place-in-ephrata/62739147
  14. How about 88 at Mui? I also think CXY and MUI break 81 (the MDT record) on Wednesday but not sure MDT does.
  15. We were talking about MUI (they are in the mid 60's now FWIW, other WU temps fairly similar) and I read that their Heliport is the second busiest in the world; impressive stat.
  16. If we get to either record (Wed or Thur, both 81) that would take a high of 20AN which does not happen too often in October though surely not unheard of...would be an additional anomalous event/figure. Hope the PSU fans are enjoying the ride. No NCAA Team looks truly dominating so you have as much as chance as anyone else as of now.
  17. I would not think too much of it if it were not for the lack of a solid first freeze chance coming in the next 2 weeks. Maybe Sat Am will surprise.
  18. I believe this will just be my second October, since moving back in 2018, without hitting the 20's one night and that that was October 2021 where I hit the 20's in early Nov. No sign of a first freeze for elevated locales down here.
  19. Oh, it is a very varied designation. MU obviously uses 32 and I think our very own NWS might but officially the USDA says the growing season is not 100% directly related to the air temp vs. ground temp. Since people do not routinely have ground measurement capability, the first hard frost is what they use and they estimate it to 28. I certainly would not trust my plants to always survive if it got to 29 but I would still water them assuming they made it. But when someone gets to 27 I think that ends the discussion!
  20. Growing season done for you (by the definition of 28 which we go by.)
  21. 37 for the low here so far. Looks like MDT and CXY could only muster 34-36 at this point. THV got to 28 or 29. Looking at WU, a mesh of the rgem and hrrr/3k was the way to go. Lots of 29-34 temps. Growing season lives on here coming up 9 degrees short.
