  7. This would pretty much be Philly school-closing criteria. And as a sidenote, I have been LOLing at Kamu talking Ralphie off the cliff. Based on the new normal.....for eastern monmouth....I would expect school is canceled through st Patrick’s day....though if any ice forms expect March to be a write off. I know it sounds a bit extreme....but our town started brining our sidewalks, driveway and bike paths. IMO, it’s more about some devious collusion with the local auto repair establishments. Anyway, I relocated my family to the cabin in PA for the remainder of winter. Having RedSky reside in SoMoCo this winter has forced my hand. I mean 70”+ of QPF in a 12 month period with only 1.325879% falling frozen!!!! Since arriving to the higher elevations...which btw has also suffered a disappointing season, it has snowed everyday since Wed. Some of the best skiing of the season and this next storm should provide a more traditional wintry experience for the area. Of course we will return to our SoMoCo domicile once schools reopen in April. I am happy for you RedSky. At least you get to wave the WSW red flag, drive around further eroding the undercarriage of your vehicle while praying the brake lines hold one more week. Sure it’s not a SoMoCo special.....with 12-18 inches topped with a crusty layer of sleet and ice. No doubt your dreams of 2010, with a 6ft snow base that made millionaires out of everyone who owned a bobcat, have been shattered. One thing is for sure RedSky. Our county has one absolute. An endless supply of brine. [emoji12] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Really.....1-4” at the cabin. There must be a curse ...or hex....perhaps some type of damnation combination for monmouth and carbon? Ok ok...it’s not all that bad....it is the second morning in a row I am enjoying the first cup of coffee while the ground is covered and snow falling. 2.5 at 2100ft.....and counting.... flake by flake Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. cabin cam shows a fresh inch of pow pow on the rail. more to come..... great skiing through the weekend and at least mid week
  10. steady at the shore. almost forgot what it looks like
  11. Hmm. 3-5 for Somoco?? At hockey game and have not looked but schools are early dismissal already.
  12. I like the briefing packages. Just something about slideware lol
  13. Whew, I actually held the above viewpoint. BTW did you get any reports from the poconos on the icing last night? It was slick as heck this morning. Skiing became a non option let alone anything to do with driving. I would not put it at more than 1/4" but with the frozen ground the surface areas at 2000' were rock hard and slick. I spent an hour tracking the first breaks in the clouds. Once the sun popped it was like magic.....windows cleared...roads treated became passable. Right when we pulled out of the perch the winds arrived and it began raining ice from the trees. Last night there was a 20 minute thump snow followed by 30 minutes of sleet but thereafter rain. Luckily not enough to do much tree damage. Felt bad for the ski mountains, been a tough season. They had two stellar days and lost day 3. Cheers!
  14. Well last night went from snow to sleet to nightmare. Woke up and all windows were covered in ice.....trees.....roads...etc. Ground was cold so it took until noon for the few moments of sun to ease the pain of getting out of the elevations. Decent icing event for sure. Kids tried walking around outside and it was like a skating rink along the driveway and road. Of course the ride down to the tunnel on the PA TPK was spent dodging sheets of flying ice from cars and trucks. As for the next event....saw the watches go up.....I will believe it when the snow is piling up on the cabin cam.
  15. My obs are simple. This winter sucks from the poconos to the shore. The trend on the Sunday evening event for the poconos, which now includes transition to ice, is the final nail. When the poconos can’t get and hold snow showers...throughout the winter mind you....and the lakes are partially frozen with many areas of open water.....the winter sucks.
