  1. Secondary roads now just wet w/the brightening midday skies even though 29F, back roads still holding somewhat. That's March for ya...
  2. Ji? Is that you? But correct, it's booking out of here quickly. 29F/Lazy flakes saying I'm checking out...
  3. This is moving quick. At least for my area heaviest stuff till noon or before then an hour or so snow showers. Guessing 3-3.5". Really can't ask for much more in March during the daytime... 29F/snow
  4. Yeah, it certainly has one of those big storm look to it w/the heavy sideways blowing snow but I know it will be quick hitter. Kinda pumped to shovel it once it's done before it freezes... 30F/Hvy snow
  5. Really? That sounds odd. Whiteout here...I can barely see anything across the street. 30F/Heavy snow/wind
  6. My road (back road) and a semi busy road which I can see covered... 33F/heavy snow
  7. Yeah, grass, car/house rooftops...stickage to paved surfaces is the next weenie step. 34F
  8. I'll take the under. (Changeover by 9:30am) Winds have picked up and radar is showing the progression..temps down to 41F. *Edit...lol. Flakes mixing in...
  9. Been raining for about an hour, temp down 43F. Overall a 9am-2pm snow event (or so)....don't blink! Snowing in Harrisburg (33F) and the R/S line moving east quick...
  10. State College at 31F/snow and temp has been falling consistency...Harrisburg 43F/Cloudy. 45F here... Like this in my WWA: "Briefly blizzard-like conditions are possible late this morning and early this afternoon."
  11. Even 2"/hr is pretty rare around these parts. I consider 1"/hr heavy stuff... 55F
  12. True...that's more Mid Atlantic subforum though...cough cough //Ji//
  13. Forgot to mention, they won't (I don't think/they usually don't) lay down brine today because it will start as rain. Townships thinking, "why brine the roads today when it will be washed away before the changeover to frz precip/snow". Advantage: Weenie
  14. I think we have a better chance than normal. No blow torch today (70s), temps will crash tomorrow downward through the 20s w/good rates at times. Here's how I think it will go: Wake up to rain, some weenies report snow mixing in, West weenies now reporting all snow then east weenies join in w/all snow, weenies starting to report sticking to grassy surfaces, then a little time goes by and now weenins report sticking to car/roof tops, more time goes by then a weenie reports starting to stick to deck/top of BBQ/front walkway...more time goes by, then an excited weenie chimes in starting to sticking to pavements and parking lots... From there who knows if roads get coated? Personally I think some, mainly backroads but how much remaining precip? 53F
  15. That's always the case in these rain to snow events. That's why they're so difficult to predict. Usually get screwed but occasionally the weather Gods throw us a bone... 31F/Fog...tad icy on windshield
  16. Isn't the precip moving out faster as well? Anything worthwhile done by 3pm-ish? I thought late afternoon/6pm or so yesterday...
  17. 6abc snow map...I'll take a little snow w/overnight temps around 20F and high winds to close out winter.
  18. My list in order of preference: 1. Piss gasoline 2. Eat all gnats and mosquitoes 3. Prevent allergies 4. Stink bugs and lantern flies 5. (longshot) Create some sort of atmospheric imbalance which will result in a century of below average temps
  19. Coming this Spring: Joro Spider https://www.today.com/news/news/giant-joro-spiders-invading-east-coast-spring-rcna19458
