  1. 1.01” here. 6.79” for the month so far, wettest month this year.
  2. 77/75 with breaks of sunshine. 75+ degree dew point #41 at my station.
  3. These Westchester/Bronx parkways smell like a moldy flooded basement x 10.
  4. 2.35” here. I drove through nearly 2 feet of water, twice. I’m dreading having to head into the city on these flooded roads.
  5. 2.06” and counting, rates over 3” per hour. This is the most rain I’ve received in a single day since the 13 inch event in August 2014, which I didn’t even have a rain gauge for. This is also my first time passing the 2 inch mark with a rain gauge of any kind, it only took 4 years, how pathetic.
  6. It’s RAINING raining, lol. 1.15” so far, and adding up quickly.
  7. I don’t think Manhattan’s ever had a tornado touchdown, it’d be interesting (and not good) if that were to happen.
  8. Raining again here....0.52” and counting. Heaviest rains should slide just to the west of me. Today may be the darkest day of the year at my station with just 0.2 “sunshine hours” (>120 w/m2 solar radiation) recorded, I have to double check, but I’m like 95% sure it is. Edit: Nope, March 21st was the darkest with no “sunshine hours” recorded, today is looking like a #2 or #3.
  9. I remember being on Rockaway Turnpike (SW Nassau) after a downpour when a gas tanker truck literally sped through one of those floods in the left lane, creating a tidal wave which fully enveloped the Honda Civic I was driving as well as the car in front of me, the wave literally went over the roof of the car. No damage thankfully, and thankfully the idiot didn’t roll over in traffic and burst into flames.
  10. A whole lot wetter further west, it’s as if we experienced two different summers. Only September has felt noticeably cloudy on Long Island. Summer as a whole was very run of the mill, sunshine and precip-wise. Humidity was off the charts and temps were slightly above normal.
  11. Mid 50’s in CT....felt cold, in Queens now and it’s 70 degrees with some sunshine.
  12. It’s 76 in here, A/C is actually running on low.
  13. 0.64 final total. Finished with a nice rainbow too.
  14. 78/76 here, mostly cloudy with intermittent sunshine. No rain at all.
  15. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a small warning box split like that between OKX & DIX.
  16. Nothing here (at home). Under a Flash Flood Warning now, stationary storms to the northeast of me. Some PWS in that area have seen over 4 inches.
  17. Radar returns look like spit but it’s actually pouring here in Lake Grove.
  18. Was similar here, but it’s clouded up again with these storms moving in off the ocean, looks like a miss for me though.
  19. And just like that, day #40 with 75°+ dew points.
  20. I was hoping we’d get some tropical rains from this, oh well. Any chance this hurricane inflicts WAR damage?
  21. First time seeing my shadow in days. 76/72 with a UV Index of 9.
  22. I remember reading an article/study which mentioned that the theoretical max for the NYC metro is a Cat 4. That or a high end Cat 3 would be our worst case scenario. Sandy wasn’t a joke, far from it, but it was a storm surge storm more than anything else. Sandy’s winds, while severe, were manageable. Rainfall wasn’t anything special with it either.
