  1. How does it look for the Bills game this afternoon?
  2. Beautiful shot. So many leaves! We completed our leaf clean up yesterday with a final mulch. Nothing left on the trees here.
  3. That purple dot is our house lol. i can’t explain it but we definitely had a chilly summer. Friends came up to visit from the NY suburbs and were appalled by how cold it was.
  4. Interesting. Our house was at 40F when i left for work in the dark at 0640. But we are on a wooded hill and we don't radiate. I was riding my bicycle and felt my hands get quite cold once I was down in the valley. Multiple people reported 34F on their car thermometers on their way in but I don't think we hit freezing up here.
  5. What a glorious fall day. I was fortunate to have the day off. Chilly foggy start in the 40's but deep blue skies and sun since then. We made it just to 70F, with no humidity. This is the sweetest part of the year in upstate NY. Other than when its snowing of course.
  6. The only thing above 5000 feet is the tops of Algonquin and Marcy.
  7. Season opener or home opener? It's quite a while before the first home game. Will almost be lake effect season!
  8. Beautiful October morning out there. Crisp air, brisk NW breeze and blue skies with puffy cumulus and roving lake effect showers coming through.
  9. Glorious summer weather. Highs in the upper 70's......lows in the 50's at night. So glad we live here!
  10. Swing and a miss for us......it all went south. Better chances tomorrow I think.
  11. Yeah thankfully this looks like a short lived period of obnoxious heat and humidity. Hopefully this will be the hottest stretch of the whole summer. And well timed so we can spend the weekend cooling off in the lake!
  12. Summer just is not long enough here for us to be pissing away entire days watching chilly rain fall outside. Very demoralizing.
  13. Took the kids to the bus stop this morning. Nice chilly drizzle. I was wearing sweatpants, long sleeve shirt and windbreaker. Just a perfect day for trick or treating.
  14. 38F this morning. Rode my bicycle to work and thought it felt like a perfect day for trick or treating. For June, not so much.
  15. We were all sitting around in fleece and sweatshirts yesterday morning. Had I not already done the seasonal cleaning on our pellet stove it would have been on.......
  16. First wave of showers and storms just went through. Per our usual this should neuter anything to come later this afternoon/evening.
  17. That would be sweet indeed. We have a little lake cabin. Usually around now we would be getting the dock and lift in. Haven't even considered it yet this year. Water too high and way too cold.
  18. 36F and mist/drizzle. I can't take this any more.
  19. Pouring rain here. Big fat juicy snowflakes mixing in. We are at 1650 feet.
  20. This spring continues to suck beyond my wildest expectations. I stood outside in the drizzle an hour ago, waiting to put the kids on the schoolbus, and we were swarmed by black flies. I looked at the growing grass that I don't stand a chance of mowing before it reaches jungle height because we can't get 2 days of dry weather. And thought that Tucson, even at 95F, sounded pretty damned good.
  21. Colder, yes. But nothing *feels* worse to me than the current 40F and drizzle.
  22. Dismal in upstate NY as well. Wet snow most of yesterday. Cold rain most of today. Grass greening up, enlarging buds on the lilacs but everything else is just brown and gray. April and May are interminable.
  23. I'm with you for 10 months of the year. Summer here, spectacular. Fall is beautiful, doubt it could be better anywhere else. Winter, I love the snow and snow sports. But April and May, when everyone else is having spring and we're in cold mud season, sucks. There's no way to put lipstick on pig of a day like yesterday.
  24. Yeah flurrying here, but no accumulation yet. F this.
