The amount of dead Oaks along roads in many parts of town is insane. They just did a crush job in certain locations the last few years. There’s also ones this year that were not totally eaten , but all of them have turned brown . So I don’t know if that means they died or just done for season or maybe the humid summer contributed. Maybe Tamarac would know. But, I do not recall seeing any with brown leaves the last 2 summers like this one .
I noticed a lot of bare trees driving on the Pike between perhaps Ludlow to Charlton-ish. I suspected it was gypsy moth damage. Glad we don't live there.
Speaking of where I live, we should have the Pit on the market within the next few weeks. After 10 years, this will be a tough departure. Finding a place with great qpf will lessen the blow.

Yeah enjoy those colors next week when it's 93/75 again. Fall is here.
Glad we don't live there.

Almost 9:30 and it's still only 59*. Quite the difference from a couple days ago for sure.
Delaying this a day would have padded August's average a bit. Alas.

Tree color
Perhaps if you had any leaves left from your catepillars.....fwiw, oaks kind of blow for color.
Meanwhile, it's an uninstall kind of day. Only 59* and overcast. I won't be surprised if we don't go much above mid-60's.

I remember years ago when you’d see beginnings of fall color and leaves fading from deep green to faded now. This year as in ones recently ,, there’s no color and everything is deep green like mid July. All over New England. Times have changed
Glad we don't live there.

Fire it up.

Enjoying the low-so-far of 56.5. We'll see if our upper 60's tickle 70.
I'm not going to argue that it's been uncomfortable. I will argue that the humidity and low mins have been the biggest culprit driving that discomfort--at least in GC. The good news is that the clock ticks as it always does. We saw how spring refused to emerge this year for the longest time. But, it did get here eventually. Similarly, the clock is ticking ever louder on summer '18. Spells of warmth will still be there of course, but their magnitude and duration will diminish as the seasons won't be denied.
Somehow, I think Tip is going to endorse this post.

You are having a pretty good summer forecasting. Though there seems to be a strong correlation to your forecasting skill if summer is hot and humid, and winter is cold and snowy, ha ha.
LOL. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Much more comfortable? Seems like the same swamp to me to start.
Perhaps you were not as swampy as here yesterday. Mucho better.

Such a nicer morning than yesterday--about the same temp-wise (69.5 for the low), but so much more comfortable. COC en route.

Really refreshing breeze, ftw.

Topped out at 87* at the Pit. Down to 86* now.

Gross--and I thought my 93 was bad.

86.0/73 at noon. I'm not sure we'll hit 90....thick haze limiting some of the sun.

Man, it's only 10:30 and it's already 82.7*. Gonna be a scorchah.

My wife is a VP at Clark, so we'll be looking in the ORH area. Worcester has the best houses--just fantastic architecture. We had lived there about 15 years ago.
