Thanks as always for this, Kevin. Winter would not be the same without it!!
I'm in again--though I'm going to reporting from a new location this year.

No mention of the lot being barren of all trees due to the previous owner’s obsession with splitting firewood?
LOL. The small print describes the lots as both 'wooded' and 'cleared'.

Where are you moving? N ORH?
Into central Mass eventually with exact location TBD. Possibly right into the westside of ORH.
Immediate term, I'm be shipping out of here in a week or so to Pit2 in Maine. At least it gives a level of flexibility to see what makes the most sense with house, location, etc. that I haven't had with prior moves.
If you know anyone who's interested in, please share!

Seems what passed through here (sun's now out) is producing thunder to the east.
-
Just had some pea-sized hail come through here.
In other news: the Pit was officially listed today. Already have a showing scheduled for tomorrow. I'm banking on it taking a year.

looks rainy on models currently
Always the safe bet in October. I think that other than wishcasting, anyone more in SNE is setting themselves up for disappointment this go 'round.

The qpf will not be a problem, But the CF will be at times.
True. It's a good snow-spot regardless. Playing with the CF fire is a far easier undertaking there than it is in SNE. I remember when I was living up there a dozen years ago, Cool Spruce and I would be awaiting the arrival of the front. Even when it did reach us, there'd be enough of a front-end pounding that we'd still typically come out on the winning side.

Good luck with all that. So long to the and of QPF woes. Off to downeast ME and ORH.
Thanks, Scott. A lot of craziness on the personal side of life between this, work, etc., etc. Hopefully there will be snow events soon and hopefully I'll have the time to actually follow them.

Ha, here I am wishing for blue hill elevation. Both for wind and snow. This is where Mitch’s elevation comes in. 2k or bust. Reasonable temps in summer at that height is my biggest attraction. I could do without highs below 0 though.
I'm going to miss my relatively cool summer highs. I think the Pit gets officially listed tomorrow. I'll be here for another week or so and then be living--at least 75%-- up at Pit2.
Sad.

Why did that guy take a picture of you sleeping?
I mean come on, you're not supposed to turn in your seat to sleep. My gosh. I kept elbowing him to get off me.

32° here...8 days past my average date of 10/6 for a freeze.
I'd put 8 days within the range of normal.

It was 35* when I left the house at 3:50am. Pre-dawn flights suck, but scoring an upgrade makes it suck less.
-50* at 34K, somewhere over Kansas.

LOL.
The rain at the Pit today was nothing extraordinary.

Finally seeing some flakes in the forecast.
Means nothing but getting closer.
Monday Night...Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Lows in the lower 30s. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
Tuesday...Partly sunny with a chance of snow showers. Highs in the mid 40s. Chance of snow 50 percent.
Nice!
It's just dumping leaves out there.

Lol, Bank thermometer in downtown Greenfield is reading 82F
My car was showing 84* at the rotary around 3:00p.m, 79* at the Pit.
Meanwhile, I'm guessing the rain tomorrow will effectively put an end to much of the foliage.
