Creek rises will be impressive.
. -
doesn't make it east...
Not moving much 8”+ rain in parts of Lancaster County.
. -
Very low steering winds so these storms will keep training over same areas.
. -
Flash flood warnings everywhere. My God.
Not going to be pretty in Lancaster County tonight.
-
@canderson it looks like some showers and to me the Landover area may get a little more in the sustained category, but I wouldnt worry too much about it.
btw, that pic was shared w/ sauss last winter prior to us getting reved up for a snowstorm.
I hope to use it often this year .

Not into “yellow” beers, but if it means snow, I’ll have a case on ready.

Last night 2.1" fell at my home. From July 21st to August 21st I received 22.4" of rain. Fortunately I don't see that continuing for the next 11 months, which would give me a 268" yearly total.
Some flooding along the Pequea Creek In Strasburg. Some roads closed.

I for one am sick of this. More detours on the way in to work this morning. It's getting ridiculous. Picked up another 1.9" overnight, I am now at 18.4" since all of this began on Saturday, 7/21.
Horst says LNS picked up 1.37” in 20 minutes.
Only 0.08” at MDT, wow!

July redux...
The Susquehanna Valley is getting it once again this morning, while areas to the east of I-81 get fringed. If I took a radar image from the last week of July, this morning's radar would look almost exactly the same....
Just an amazing, frustrating pattern...
Heavier rains look east of 81
. -
Impressive rain totals. Many locations will see their wettest July ever.
. -
1.5” from 12-1 am apparently. No clue otherwise.
Its really bad around here.
And looking at radar, it’s going to get worse. That fetch of radar echoes extends deep into the south.

Not a drop here yet.
Many storms are training now. Flood Warning just issued.
. -
Not missing much. Temps didn’t get warm enough so just heavy rain with cloud lightning and thunder.
. -
Doesn't appear to be turning into much more than showers with some embedded thunder.
Weak sauce.

Was hoping for snow showers and 90F in same week, but that does not look hopeful.
Frost and 90F in same week still on table.

What a crazy swing in temps from yesterday to this am !
I spent most of the day in the yard yesterday in what felt like mid summer, & now it feels like early winter.
CTP even added the chance of this heavy rain storm possibly mixing with snow showers at the end of the event !
Literally went summer to winter.
It’s like a ghost town outside compared to yesterday.
40F, 25 mph ENE wind and drizzle will do that.
-
Temp at 81 here, wind strong but still a south/southeast component.
heavy_wx it is amazing how green things have gotten down there the past 2 days.
Only takes a couple days of good sun.

What a beautiful day.
Tomorrow, the complete opposite. April is the cruelest month.
. -
Bitter here in Hazleton yesterday with flurries with some steady snow coming later today/tomorrow...then 70 later this week...going to be fun week of weather swings. Seem as though we get less and less spring/fall...and it's basically down to two seasons...Winter and Summer.
I need to look at years past and see if this is more common than what we really feel.

On my way to work. South of Willow Street, poorer flake structure and wetter roads. White rain.
. -
On a side note I will say that this has been the year for lunker aggregates.
Friggin parachutes out there right now.
Last week was undoubtedly the biggest flakes I’ve ever seen.
Good stuff.
Little band setting up. Too bad it’s moving out quickly.

Funny hearing the birds chirping up a storm.

Moderate to heavy snow in Lancaster. 31F.

I recall an April, maybe 90's, where the area had a general 4-8" snowfall that accumulated on all surfaces. Maybe someone here will recall. Could have been late 80's but do not think it was far back as 82.
Think that was April 1996

At HersheyPark with kids and it’s 57F in the warm sun.
Can’t believe in 12 hours there will be 1” per hour rates.
