Multiple days of upper 60s and low 70s on the island while Boston, E CT stuck in the 50s. Very rare to see.
Boston still sitting at 50 lol. Absolutely brutal
Is it that rare? I feel like it happens quite a bit this time of year.

My parents drove to Danville, VT to a brewery I found online. I told them to leave right after totality and they managed to hit no traffic at all coming down 91. Made it back to New Haven in like 4 hours.
In Dallas there was no traffic either… seems like everyone who worked downtown stayed home. No rush hour and just the coolest of vibes.

What a day. it also seemed better than 2017 to me!

Completely cleared out in Dallas for totality. The cu field went poof and miraculously had no cirrus!
Just an absolutely exceptional experience.

Happy chasing everyone…..halfway to Dallas now…..cutting it close…..trying to get to park about half an hour outside DFW…..had to move flight to next one out of LaGuardia
I have no idea how my flight tomorrow is going to take off given the severe weather expected!

My parents are driving up to St. J this morning. I told them to get on 91 as soon as it’s over. Hopefully they don’t get stuck forever coming back to CT!

Not sure why you're staking out the meh position here. Seems out of character.
Someone who gets excited for a 940mb low on satellite off Newfoundland finds viewing a total eclipse in person as boring.

Dallas? Do you know any weather men you can ask? I personally recommend Kevin in Tolland or Windy App
Looks like a decent cirrus deck there. Hopefully we get some breaks but who knows how that will shake out until the day of. I'll be happily surprised!

I was on the beach in RI and it looked total to us but technically not I guess. Like I said phenomenal but it's the moon passage in front of the sun. Enjoy hope the clouds don't get in your way Joni Mitchell
The difference between 99.5% and 100% is enormous. It's like night and day.
Looking pretty cloudy for me but maybe I'll get lucky. Who knows lol

Full in southern RI. Way cool but I just won't fall for all this hype. I don't want this to seem as a slight bu I am just going to watch the WCAX camera atop Mansfield .
1970 was only a total solar eclipse on Nantucket.
I saw 2017 in person in South Carolina on Sullivan's Island. I was excited for it but the experience completely blew me away. I used to think the people that called it a spiritual experience were overly dramatic but it truly was.

I remember when I was a kid in 1970 it was NBD just don't look at it. But money and hype has to be made. I guess some are looking for some out of body experience. Don't get me wrong it's way cool just it isn't life changing.
You haven't been in totality then.

Today turned into an awesome day at Stowe with a really cool undercast and soft snow. Could have used some wax on my skis lol

Tomorrow is going to be atrocious. Like 0F to 10F on the slopes. -25F windchills. Pass.
I'm heading up to Stowe on Friday 3/1. Hopefully the Wed rainstorm isn't too painful!

I can tell you don't settle for 90% or even 99%! Get into totality as it is a different world! I will be in Texas for this one. In 2017 I was on the centerline in South Carolina.
Same here. Was in Charleston in 2017 and heading to Dallas this time. Can't wait.

Only 3" here near the shoreline. Torched BL really killed us. Not really terribly surprising...but still disappointing. Over 2 years (1/29/22) since last warning event and counting. At least this one put us over last year's pitiful season total.
It's amazing how quickly things tend to decrease once you get east of Guilford. My parents had 7.5" in Guilford only 2 miles from the Sound.

Just about 1" of liquid here so 15.7" in West Hartford comes to about 16:1.
Love a good deform band!

15.2" in West Hartford here at the station. Nuts.

Eastern Mass seems to really struggle compared to places like ISP/HVN. Out toward the Twin Forks and GON it's a different story but seems like a bit of longitude does help around here even when you're on the Sound or Atlantic.
