We had steady moderate snow for a while here, now light snow and some sleet mixed. I measured 1.5 inches at about 445pm. maybe 2 inches or a bit more now....a win. Huge snow totals 40 to 60 miles south of here and basically nothing 5 to 10 miles north of here.
Snowing hard here just south of Waldorf. all surfaces aside from roads covered. Leaving the Redskins game the flurries started steady an hour ago as we were just south of Andrews AFB, and the real steady snow was north of Brandywine.
1.04" yesterday, 2.8" for the month and just over 64" for the year. Torrential rain and thunder currently. Now if we can break the clouds late this morning and afternoon, after this batch of rain?

I did not empty the Cocorahs gauge and measure when I got home 45 minutes ago, but we have well over 4 inches and still raining hard. Standing water everywhere here in Charles County and many road closures.
The timing of the system coming in from the Mississippi Valley seems pretty slow, and the rains from the "tropical" system have made it further northwest than some mentioned yesterday. Any opinions?
