Cloud cover should keep storm chances lower today. I'm still waiting on a drenching downpour, only .73 the past week from lots of quick showers. How are the rest of you all doing?
Since I moved back to Marion and worked in West Asheville, my home in Marion has recieved more rain almost every month. This month, my job location in W AVL has over 4 inches of rain while my house has 1.2.
We still have brown grass here.
Some reason the downslope areas of the foothills have been getting screwed. We need more of a southeasterly component to the flow. I keep getting missed over and over.
We almost got split again today but have managed to pick up .23 so far. Nowhere near what southern and northern McDowell has the past few days. We are now close to an inch of rain for the month.
Rain shields are strong here. Just a trace today so far. Hopefully the storms over the Blue Ridge will translate east. They have not been doing that for weeks now. They redevelop over Burke and Rutherford.
2 to 4 inches of much needed rain is being shown on all models from Wednesday-Monday with waves of moisture on a stalled front. Hopefully we can't screw this one up.
We ended up with .13. Might be some more light rain or sprinkles later. Looks like central and eastern NC will be the big winner with rain the next week or two.
