Yippie... Let it snow Ha
-
Yeah but it's only Monday... Not next Monday ;(
-
What a difference a shift of a few miles can make... ha Prob why 0-12' is almost always a good call for this area.. ha
-
nah.... just use to seeing "what could of been" in this area.. So, if it dosnt work out I won't be too disappointed. .. Heck I could of gone with a 1/4 goal.. So, I was a tad greedy ha.
-
Half ha.... hell I'll take a 1/3 of that and be happy this time of year .. I'm not getting my hopes up till 48 hours out... Still definitely has that big or bust potential here in the RVA..
-
Some kind of mix /back and forth is definitely a good early call for how history normally plays out around the Richmond area...Still way to early to get crazy showing the predicted snow/rain totals in this area.. Getting some decent precipitation into the area dosnt look like will be the problem to say the least...

Maybe but fresh water flooding looks like it will still be a major issue..The real heavy bands haven't even dropped into that area yet..
-
Another decent band coming into southern VA from the coast... Actually heaviest rain of the day here in Glen Allen Va at the monent..Still nothing serious .. The band down south may spin up a quick thurnderstorm or possible tornado... http://www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/Current.aspx?location=USVA0659&animate=true Looks like the area may get hit with a decent outer band in the next few hours if it holds together... Just been a light breeze/mist so far here....
-
Snowing nicely just outside Richmond my get a nice dusting after all ha
-
Well pushed back south again on the latest run ..The weaker system actually is better for us down here... .. To bad most of this system seems to be coming in during the day on Sat tho...
-
Rather it show its staying south for now.... being in the sweet spot hardly ever works out this early.... (and its APRIL)
-
Wake me up on Friday and tell me what it is showing.... Still A bit early yet but hey, post the maps if you got um..... Def been bouncing back and forth the past few runs... This Weds could be interesting with a gusty thunderstorm in some places....
-
Is still trending south.. So Id say 1 to 3 tops at the moment for the Richmond area... (if anything at this point) With more south & west ...
-
looks like its pretty much over here in the Richmond Area.. closer to the coast tho may not be done just yet as the storm wraps around... Still could get a few scattered burst down this way but I would count much on it at this point with the temps now over 32...
-
yeah if there is a dry patch we will hit hit.. ha
-
Yep plz for the 50 mi north shift... Richmond has enough of these 1-3 storms.. ha
-
yeah starting to fill in nicely in the area.. prob will just miss out on the real extended period of steady/ heavy snow... Sleet mixing in prob will make roads worse since it looks like almost all the roads have not been treated... (be careful on the bridges and overpasses).. Main roads mainly just wet at the moment..(but again since not treated could cover up quickly in places) Id say in about an hour (9:30 or so) we should get a nice hit from the precip working up this way up from SW VA/NC if it all holds together.. looks like a good batch of steady/mod snow...
-
Yes I know.. Just saying, it's so disorginized in this area right now, that some places could be getting barely anything....while just a few mins away could be making out allot differently...prob best to just look at the radar hallucinations/ water vapor loop & get real time updates from other users at this point.
-
At this point I don't think we need to look at the models... Still could be on the higher /lower end of the 1-3 prediction in most of the area..
-
Channel 12 forcast is a bit off ...they maybe right about totals but I doubt it turns to rain at 12 noon .. In all of the Richmond area... Unless we totally miss the low from the west
-
As luck would have it ...we are now in the screw zone to start off this storm, between the developing precip on the coast and the low wrapping around from the west... The storm is Def not orginized at all yet,..looks like we will be in and out of this zone for the next few hours with on and off light mix..Looks to me, it will be about the 7 am hour until we get out of this first lull... (West end Glen Allen)
