  1. The wind has been pretty stout. I don’t live in a particularly wind prone but I looked out once and my mailbox was shaking.
  2. I didn’t know Whiz was
  3. I went out for a bit earlier. Down in the valley at 800' it was a typical gloomy day but nothing real awful, just up the hill at 1250' at my house tough it is windy with mist on and off.
  4. Unfortunately for me, aim still matters for putting.
  5. You have consistently mocked NNErs for saying this about pleasant summer evenings for years. I don't know why I should ever be surprised by your spin but once in a while something pops out the does indeed surprise me.
  6. You didn't know it was in VT? It is surrounded by neighborhoods and they have bought out many houses over the years and paid for a lot of soundproofing upgrades
  7. I fenced in my back yard years ago and rented a post hole driller. That thing was a beast and beat me up pretty good. I found out quickly that they weren't lying when they named my part of town Graniteville.
  8. I'd appreciate the NNE warm season thread more if it would actually get warm!
  9. I have a push cart but I go through phases using it and not using it. Most of my golf is 9 holes and I like not having to mess around unfolding and folding it, especially when you are rushing to make your tee time.
  10. I had about an inch at 1250'
  11. We were hiking in the Groton State Forest yesterday and my son was asking about some of the old stone walls in the middle of the forest near 2000’ feet. I told him about settlers coming up and clearing the forest for farms. I the. Told him that as soon as land in the Midwest started opening up, many of them beat feat west as fast as they could. Can you imagine the look on their faces when they realized the ground out there wasn’t filled with rocks. They must have exclaimed “SMDH - Smacketh mine dang head!”
  12. Yes we have landowner permission forms for trails to cross people’s land, State, Private or Federal. There are strict rules about working in the Green Mt. National Forest and VAST has a good working relationship with them. We still have to follow rules though and get all work approved ahead of time and it has to jibe with the forest management plan. Most of our trails in the GMNF use forest roads but when things like bridges need replacing they are usually to a higher standard than we normally require. That’s a lot of words just to say you need to get permission to work on anyone else’s land. Lol
  13. Lol. I thought he was talking about the little tree. It does look like a muskrat.
  14. Remember the guys who cut their own line down the backside of Jay a few years ago? That was State land not federal but they got like a $17,000 fine.
  15. Absolutely beautiful day for a hike/walk. Went over to Groton and walked some of the old roads and logging trails that are snowmobile trails in winter. Still snow in spots. I think we got up to 2000’-2200’ or so.
  16. Stay quarantined and follow social distancing protocols, wear a mask etc.
  17. I'd punch an old lady for the 63° depicted for me in that top map and I'd probably take a drive to that 74° depicted for Springfield, VT
  18. I have never liked any seafood. It's weird, my parents loved all sorts of seafood and my son does too. I wish I did like it, it would make visits to the ocean more fun. Imagine having to be the only guy to ask for the chicken tender basket when everyone else is ordering the seafood platter!
  19. I ate a McDonald's Filet O' Fish once.
