  1. I’m prepared to not hit the posted speed limit on any road in VT for the next 4-5 weeks. Nothing gets me more irate than the 33mph in a 50mph when just trying to do daily activities .
  2. I’ve found the sun angle still doesn’t make it feel like summer. Heat and sunsets at 7pm just feels weird. No matter how we try to replicate summer in the autumn, it just feels like it falls short.
  3. Chilly shot coming in. As the upper low pivots just north of the international border, cooling aloft will allow temperatures approach or even drop below freezing across the High Peaks in northern NY, so should showers linger long enough, there could be a bit of slushy snow or perhaps rime by daybreak Sunday.
  4. Couldn’t come at a better time… “fantastic weather for being outside.” What a stretch coming up… and in progress.
  5. Ahh, thanks. Saw 7sm vis and wondered why it would be reduced.
  6. They definitely mix. Beer and chainsaws mix well to create some amazing content.
  7. I can’t even fathom multiple below normal months in the winter. Cold mins, cold maxes, whole thing. Feels impossible. Consistent legit fresh cold air masses… not rotting at a cloudy 28F for days on end and torching departures.
  8. What about top 5 or top 10? I have no idea, but interior was pretty damn hot in the means.
  9. Thats where I end up. I love snow and skiing and the mountain culture in winter. I hate the darkness. If I could get like April solar all winter long, I’d be in heaven. Even if it’s dreary out in April, it feels different. I’m always jealous of like Colorado or Utah mountain zones that have the latitude of like Washington D.C. for sun angle, while also seeing plenty of sun if it’s not snowing. Snow or sun is a great winter climo.
  10. Looks like there was some car-topper frost locally around here. This was over in Jeffersonville (Smuggs side of the Mtn) I think.
  11. lol. Congrat's you were even warmer than GON last night.
  12. Yeah I had the same puzzled look. BOS may be localized on the water, but it’s still a significant climo spot that should weigh heavily into a zone average. Even normal around there shouldn’t be anywhere close to a top-10 warm August.
  13. I guess it would make sense… even if August up this way was 15th of 100+ years. Thats pretty mild and not enough to drastically alter the summer rankings. Summer tallies of June/July/August: Burlington… 3rd warmest since 1884. Saint Johnsbury… warmest on record since 1894. Interesting the two longest climo sites in VT were #1 and #3 hottest summer on record.
  14. Does it say those are rankings out of 132 years? Like eastern Mass was 8th warmest during that time?
  15. Yeah looked like a healthy 850mb thermal gradient from north to south at max heating today. NW flow downslope compressional warming too. Earlier you could see the compression with locally lower dews in NE MA and adjacent NH down towards ORH.
  16. Frost Advisories for the Adirondacks and far NE VT… first “blue” colored headline colors of the season.
  17. Back up north… 61/45. Quick ride into autumn with upper 50s to low-60s afternoon temps. Not rain cooled air either… just a legit air mass.
