  1. Nice... We are having a mild evening up this way.... past hour has been bouncing between 55-59F now! It keeps trying to drop if the wind is calm, but then it picks up again and the temp jumps back up. Much colder east/south. BTV area probably going to see 30-40mph gusts out of the south late tonight with the WAA coming in on the low level jet.
  2. Yup, absolutely amazing. Pretty similar here, 37F to 67F recovery under full sun.
  3. You mean 2011-12 not 09-10 right? 2015-16 was a complete and utter disaster up here. 153” at the ski area, with the next lowest amount being like 240” in the past 25 years. It just crushed what we thought were the “bad winters” by like 75”+.
  4. They had like 100+” in parts of the mid-Atlantic I thought. We had like 95” in Stowe.
  5. I think I have one saved from like a 3am rant... it was like 6 paragraphs long of stream of consciousness with no periods or sentences .
  6. You all loved the constant upslope snow that saved 2011-12 up north. SnowNH writing drunken rants at 2am about if he sees another post about upslope snow while he looks at his brown yard... End of Feb 2012 had one of the more prolific events I’ve seen on pure NW flow... 36” in 36 hours at the ski area. Think we had 20” or so in town.
  7. 37F at 5:30am. Brrrr. First 30s of the season. SLK at 30F, HIE at 35F. Alex probably seeing another freeze.
  8. Down to 44F. Lots of 42-45F already showing up scattered around in the PWS network. Was just outside with the dog for her last time out, and brrr that felt chilly.
  9. Just free falling temps this evening. Sun this afternoon bumped us up to a high of 67F.... then the sun went down. Now 47F and falling and continuing downward. Might make upper 30s tonight.
  10. Not much color here but today was the first day that you can tell which color each tree is likely to turn. Very muted but there is that subtle whole-scale change starting.
  11. Was a beautiful afternoon up this way. Temp is going to plummet tonight if winds go calm.
  12. Yup... it’s like 1500ft will see snow before my house at 750ft... but my garden will die before the gardens up at the base of the ski area. The first time the base area hits 32F is usually with snow or a rain to snow CAA situation along a strong autumn FROPA. The first time I hit 32F is just a random clear night lol.
  13. Might finally get our over-the-top warmth up north. Usually there’s a couple periods of it each summer but this year it’s just been strict N/NW=cooler, S/SE=warmer when it comes to anomalies.
  14. See I’ve noticed moisture more in the winter in recent years that makes a big difference. Dry cold with 10sm CLR is quite nice. But man those days where it’s real cold and the ASOS never has a vis over 3sm all day because of small arctic sand style flakes...it’s just bone-chilling raw feeling. NW wind squeezing what little moisture is left out of the atmosphere, not accumulating to much of anything but just that damp high RH arctic cold that seems to chill you to the core. I think of those differences like humidity vs no humidity in summer.
  15. Yeah it’s like when folks discuss heat... anything near and above 90F just all feels the same. 97F or 90F, its just hot. Like wind in winter, humidity in summer is the difference maker. A day of -5F but calm and full sun feels a lot better than a windy 10F that’s damp with 2sm -SN mist all day.
  16. 56F with broken skies...should see some sunshine today.
  17. Yeah I guess it gets us on the fringe in the southern part of the county... 0.01-0.05”, we’ll see. Maybe a morning shower then partly sunny? Nice little rain event for CNE/SNE.
  18. lol I read this and was like huh, tomorrow is partly sunny. Today was the rain day! Like a different inverted world up here.
  19. 80/68 at ORH is pretty warm. That’s summer weather for 1,000ft. I could see some A/C running in that with those dews on the tarmac.
  20. Yeah we had wind blown sheets of rain come through maybe 90 minutes sho at the mountain. Very low vis heavy rain and then rolled out pretty quickly.
  21. 64/59... those dews are coming up. It’s noticeable after this recent stretch.
  22. Finally found someone who gives JSpin a run for his money in snow totals. Its great having posters who live in these little microclimates showing just how snowy some pockets can get.
  23. Yeah you definitely have an extreme rad site. You make MVL here next to me seem like a SNE site, lol.
  24. I’m the same. If it’s bad I’m putting it on.
