  1. Awesome paste job there last evening!
  2. Yeah it's cold. This air mass is legit. 25F with 3/4 to 1.5 mile visibility in light snow. KMVL 221201Z AUTO 32010G17KT 3/4SM -SN BKN018 BKN023 OVC034 M04/M07 A2962 RMK AO2 P0000 T10391072
  3. One more winter vibe day. It snowed last night but only an extra half inch or less. Still sitting around 4" of snow on the ground. Light flurries falling. Cold, dry snow, ha.
  4. Nice resurgence of snow. Growth is pretty good. I can only imagine what the upslope snow growth is on the west slopes.
  5. That's such an awesome scene. Evergreens caked in white is the most winter-looking vegetation out there.
  6. Yeah dude, the low got going just in time for you guys. Strong SE trend with this one, despite getting mild today, there was a good period of snow. It got the job done. Blowing and drifting snow at the end of the 3rd week in April is good stuff.
  7. Definitely enjoying his insight and Lava's with regards to being experts on vaccine/pharmaceutical/treatment development.
  8. Measured 3.75" on my wife's car that hasn't moved since last night. I cleared my garden table this morning after the overnight 1.5" and it had around another 3" on it from this afternoon/evening. So that above freezing period with no precip from like 7am until 3pm between the two rounds of precip melted off 3/4th of an inch. So somewhere between 3.75" and 4.5" depending on whether it was one measurement or two with a clearing. Not a huge event at all, but it clears my 3" threshold for noteworthy/fun appeal at home. I cleared the cars and board, we'll see if there's any upslope response tonight and especially tomorrow down here in town. The mountain should see some persistent snow showers, but tomorrow morning into early afternoon looks more active. The lowest heights swing through the mid-levels, with cold pocket at H7 arriving late morning... I think some squally snow showers should develop tomorrow morning with popcorn going into the early afternoon due to upslope flow and that cold pool aloft during late April insolation. Can tell the lumpy look to the ground...even with 4" on some spots, it was uneven with even some spots showing to the ground (like next to the dog).
  9. It’s cold. Pretty much powder out there on top it seems. I’ve got 28F. Crazy to see it snowing and completely white with a few inches and it’s still light out at 7:30pm. Wife commented on how odd it is to be this light out at this hour but a wintry scene.
  10. Coming down nicely in town. About an inch in past 30 minutes.
  11. Now it’s ripping. This band is nice.
  12. Yeah dropped fast into the 20s up at 1500ft. All the sudden it was snowing at 28F and sticking to the road. 31F down in town.
  13. BTV looks to be doing the best this round so far. Awesome to see sub-freezing temps there with +SN. KBTV 211902Z 34009KT 1/4SM R15/2600V3500FT +SN FZFG VV006 M01/M02 A2972 RMK AO2 P0000 T10061017
  14. That's crazy while BTV is 32/29 and snowing at max diurnal heating. They may dip below freezing shortly.
  15. Fun SPS... Including the cities of Malone, Plattsburgh, Star Lake, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Dannemora, Lake Placid, Port Henry, Ticonderoga, Alburgh, South Hero, St. Albans, and Burlington 1134 AM EDT Wed Apr 21 2021 ...Locally Heavy Snow will move through Northern New York and the Northern Champlain Valley through 5 pm... Moderate to heavy snowfall at times move across the Adirondacks into the Northern Champlain Valley through 5 pm. Snowfall rates of an inch or more per hour is possible that could quickly deposit several inches of snowfall. Despite current wet roads in some locations, increased snowfall intensity and continued falling temperatures will allow for snow covered roads and slick travel. If traveling this afternoon and evening please be aware of changing conditions and other vehicles. Conditions will gradually improve this evening.
  16. BTV is Heavy Snow at the last hourly obs... it's slowly trying to come east. KBTV 211654Z 34014KT 1/4SM R15/2600VP6000FT +SN FG OVC007 01/M01 A2970 RMK AO2 SLP061 P0003 T00061011
  17. From a friend who works at Saddleback... this is Rangley, ME I believe.
  18. Absolutely. You can get addicted to just about anything that brings a sense of pleasure. Weed, booze, meth, sugar, exercise, video games, smart phones, PCP etc.
  19. A few inches at 1,500ft... 1.5" down in the village. The picnic table snow cam got like 5" in 3 hours. Good burst of heavy snow this morning. Now we wait for this afternoon/evening's round.
  20. Up at 1,500ft area there's a few inches. This is incredibly picturesque snow.
  21. Good 4:1 ratio snow down here in the valley at 750ft. Bout to head up to work.
  22. Nice obs for a time at MVL with +SN. METAR KMVL 211105Z AUTO 35003KT 1/4SM +SN FG VV006 01/00
  23. Pasted white outside at home. Evergreens drooping quite a bit... very wet snow, maybe 1.5” or so? 0.40” water though... can see why the summit got a fast 5”.
  24. Synoptically, it's not a bad sign to be just N/NW/W of the deepening mid-level lows. This map of the H5 looked to swing underneath us as it deepens. It's tilted a bit, but the H5, H7, and H85 lows swing just south/east of the Adirondacks, N.VT and N.NH. The seasonal trend of east ticks on the approach may help the higher terrain around the MVL-MPV-BML-HIE area. It does look like it deepens strongly as it proceeds east, with some big totals possible downstream in the Maritimes and up in what you Mainers call The County.
  25. 18z EURO still keeps showing a decent, moderate QPF event in a marginal cold column. I still like 4-8" at 1,500ft+ but down low it's hard to say... just for the record, I still never take these snow maps verbatim of course. I use them and alter the snow ratios to what I think is most likely.. like 6-8:1 at least on the final tally under 1,500ft. Up at the picnic tables it might be 12:1 in a cold atmosphere (that average ratio might include some 15:1 type upslope afterwards). I could see my backyard seeing 1-2" of slop on 0.5-0.75" water. But then solid advisory snowfall amounts up above 1,000-1,500ft.
