Nice, glad the RIC crew got in on some winter sights this morning.

Check out the text of the winter storm watch - 1” of snow and blizzard conditions. Pretty wild : WHAT...For the Winter Storm Watch, blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations up to one inch possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. For the Wind Chill Watch, dangerously cold wind chills possible. Wind chills as low as 65 below zero.

If California got ice storms, it would make that state even a worse place to live. They can’t keep the power on during sunny weather.

Haven't tracked this at all but HRRR can change on a dime in a single run.

We had a heat pump in our townhome when we lived in Arlington. Then we moved to a SF home in Alexandria 2 years ago where we have hot water radiators (propane). I hated the heat pump - anytime it got cold (usually below freezing which this winter wouldn't have occurred much lol), we'd have to turn on the emergency mode since it'd just blow cool air otherwise. Our house we live in now was built in the 1930s and this radiator system is so much more efficient. I can't even imagine a heat pump out in Deep Creek...the house would be an ice box.

I’d rather root for a complete shutout from snow this winter than a team from Philly.

Who’s everyone rooting for the in the NFL games today? I’d love to see Joe Burrow win it all with the Bengals.

Having our place out there for 6+ years has been a game changer for our winters and my sanity. I suffered for years with 35 and rain while N&W was snowing lol. It really is another world there in the winter compared to even 50 miles east - a bad winter there (this year) is a well above average winter here. We also love summer there - a hot day is like 80-85 and the lake provides so many activities. It’s our happy place to get away from the craziness of the beltway.
