  1. Unfortunately, still working at this hour but took a break and just checked 18z GFS: 12-20" for the mountains...Snowshoe is going to do really well.

  3. Also, 2 more Ovi goals. Now 30 from the record. Let’s go!!
  4. If you book through a rental agency, you’d be fine, but it’s a valid concern IMO. Our house is on a road not maintained by the county and is gravel. From the county maintained road to our house, it’s a 300+ foot elevation climb. We pay to have it plowed and even with an SUV/snow tires, there’s been big storms where we couldn’t get out without a plow. But rental agencies will help make sure it’s plowed even if a private road.
  5. I’m getting excited for the Friday/Saturday as that’s a pretty classic setup for a good upslope event, especially as energy rotates around the ULL through the mountains.
  6. Giddy giddy Heading up into the mountains, guidance continues to favor a multi- day period of snow showers along the Allegheny Front. The initial activity through Wednesday night will be comprised of rain showers. However, rapid cooling of the column ensues as the cold upper low tracks overhead. Strong ascent combined with favorable orographic effects should yield ample opportunity for moderate to heavy snow showers, particularly on Thursday into Friday. The snow combined with the blustery winds may lead to significant reductions in visibility and hazardous travel conditions. Continue to monitor the latest forecast at weather.gov/lwx. Heading into the weekend, upslope snow showers likely persist given cyclonic flow aloft persists. This would add to any snowpack already on the ground. From Thursday onward, daily highs largely stay in the low to mid 30s, accompanied by low temperatures in the mid 20s to low 30s.
  7. Even if they get a foot of snow with this system, I highly doubt they are able to actually open this month. It could allow them to open earlier than expected in December if a favorable pattern develops but they need consistent cold nights (at least) to make snow to create a base.
  8. Nice day out there today and appreciate the wind blowing more leaves off the trees. Time to hang out on the patio and watch college football.
  9. No, we don’t rent out but heading up there this weekend. You definitely gotta chase there/WV for a good event this winter. Helps cope with the snow drought here.
  10. Wisp cam too but it’s a rain/snow mix.
  11. Up in Maine / New Hampshire for the week. Currently in Kennebunkport, high was 51, and raining/49 degrees. Quite the shock to the body with these temps.
  12. Wow, great pics. I can’t see from the naked eye here but see some pink through my camera, but too much light pollution. Pics from family in NH and NY are pretty too.
