    * Until 515 PM EST.

      IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
               to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
               damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
               downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
               Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

    * Locations impacted include...
      Germantown, Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Olney, Damascus,
      Lansdowne, Lowes Island, Poolesville, Aspen Hill, Potomac, North
      Bethesda, Montgomery Village, North Potomac, Redland, Great Falls,

    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

    Get indoors to protect yourself from wind and lightning. Trees around

    trees, move to an interior room on the lowest floor. Don`t drive
    underneath trees or in wooded areas until the threat has passed.

  2. I'm near Laytonsville... been coming down really hard last 15 min. or so, severe t-storm warning for my area - a few rumbles of thunder, lot of wind, no hail yet.  looks like the line is nearly gone but has been training over the same area.  Wouldn't be surprised at a few localized flash flood warnings...

    Looks like its falling apart a lil bit... but we shall see

    Yes, they are letting the STW expire, but still, pretty solid line - I'll guess it will have some impact (game is only in the 3rd inning right now) probably between 10:30PM and 11PM.  Saw some video from the ballpark when the heavy stuff hit in mid afternoon there, ground crew did a good job of keeping the field playable.

  4. new 12:30PM D1 convective outlook just issued from SPC has added a Marginal Risk for parts of the DC area:

    ...PA/MD/VA...
       Visible satellite imagery shows a pocket of strong heating occurring
       over parts of southern PA into northern VA. Meanwhile, a back-door
       cold front is surging southward into the region. Given the
       moist/unstable air mass in this region, have added a MRGL risk for
       afternoon thunderstorms spreading east-southeastward as an weak
       upper trough grazes the area. Locally gusty winds and hail are
       possible with the strongest cells.
