I'm near Laytonsville... been coming down really hard last 15 min. or so, severe t-storm warning for my area - a few rumbles of thunder, lot of wind, no hail yet. looks like the line is nearly gone but has been training over the same area. Wouldn't be surprised at a few localized flash flood warnings...

Switching over to the CMC, it appears to be a nice hit at 108!

apologies if this has already been posted earlier in the thread (I couldn't find any references), but for those who follow Wes Junker in the Capital Weather Gang section of the Washington Post, here is his take on the potential weekend storm, written earlier this afternoon:

Looks like its falling apart a lil bit... but we shall see
Yes, they are letting the STW expire, but still, pretty solid line - I'll guess it will have some impact (game is only in the 3rd inning right now) probably between 10:30PM and 11PM. Saw some video from the ballpark when the heavy stuff hit in mid afternoon there, ground crew did a good job of keeping the field playable.

if that line holds together and keeps moving (35MPH according to the latest severe weather statement from NWS), the latter part of the ASG could be impacted...

interesting how we've been able to get a couple of tornado warnings (even if only radar-indicated) when SPC indicated in an MD earlier that there was only a 20% chance of a watch!

new 12:30PM D1 convective outlook just issued from SPC has added a Marginal Risk for parts of the DC area:
...PA/MD/VA... Visible satellite imagery shows a pocket of strong heating occurring over parts of southern PA into northern VA. Meanwhile, a back-door cold front is surging southward into the region. Given the moist/unstable air mass in this region, have added a MRGL risk for afternoon thunderstorms spreading east-southeastward as an weak upper trough grazes the area. Locally gusty winds and hail are possible with the strongest cells.

looks like SPC issued a MD at 4PM for the northeastern parts of our area with 95 percent chance of a watch:
