I read somewhere that the longest life span for any county in the usa was Hernando Florida...My brother and uncle live there...my brother is 76 and my uncle 92...both moved there from Brooklyn over 30 years ago...

the latest 90 degree day on record for NYC and Newark is 10/17/1938...five weeks later there was 10" of snow on the ground...NYC saw 90 or higher in October four times...1927, 1938, 1939 and 1941...Newark in 1949 and 1959...

NYC will end up averaging 75.5 for August...since 1990 the average is close to 76.0...since 1930 the average is 75.4...

just had a sprinkle that wet the ground...yesterday I saw a few drops...very humid out now...75 degrees...

cool spells at the end of August had temps below 55 in years past...the coolest temp ever recorded in NYC during August is 50 set in 1885...This record was tied on the 29th-30th in 1965 with two days with a low of 50...1976 tied the record with 50 degrees on the 31st...1982 hit 50 on the 29th...1986 hit 50 on the 29th...these were clear cool nights...1965, 1976, 1982 and 1986 were developing el nino years...the coolest August temp since then was 56 in 2007...a cool clammy day with rain and a max of 59...that tied the lowest Aug max day for NYC...record lows were common in August and September in the 1960's...August 15th 1963 set a record low of 55...A year later in 1964 the record was broken with a low of 54...NYC set a record low of 49 on September 16th 1961...that record was broken with a 48 in 1964...that record was broken in 1966 with a temp of 47 which still stands...

reminds me a little of early Sept. 1992...1992-93 could be an analog for the winter if the enso stays neutral until mid winter when el nino made a come back...

loosing some rain forests are not good but you can't tell Brazil how to manage their land...same goes for the globalists telling us how to run our country...we can conserve all we want but if other countries don't we are wasting our time and money...

I'll take the average snowfall we got for the last ten years...

even with the world warming we could still get as cold as 2014 and 2015...both winters got over 50" of snow...2017-18 had the second longest stretch of days with max temps 32 or lower with a good snowstorm also...that winter got 40" of snow...so very cold and snowy periods can still come at any time during any winter...last year was mediocre to bad but it was still better than 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2011-12...

sooner or later NYC should hit 90 in August even with the vegetation near the sensor...last time it did not hit 90 was back in 1986, 1982 and 1963...
