Yep I think GSP is out to lunch right now, I think the mountains see some accumulations out of this if models hold.

This and the above CMC are the first maps I've seen that show any snow for the upstate since Jan. The models actually did very well with snow placement last week with almost all of NC getting some but it never getting into SC, they nailed that. Most of them showing a similar scenario this time with SC getting missed again, but these two show little. Would be neat to see but it won't happen.

yep GSP says winter isn't over yet, surprised not more chatter about the potential for snow the middle of the upcoming week.

Northern Hemisphere pattern to the Pole is really ripe right now. Nice flow of waves, in balance with good things I think. This means the 7-14 day period could be more organic with higher snow chances. There is nice oversight right now

Bring the cold and snow on, I think we deserve March to be cold and stormy since February was suppose to be a winter month and has been quite balmy.  Bring it on.,,,,,:snowwindow::snowing:

Wow! As of today, few trees are already blooming. Crazy!

Too early, these trees and bushes are going to get a killer frost or two before March and April are over.  NOAA already saying the whole month of March will be colder than normal for most of the country except for Texas and Florida.

    Well...we are the south... ;)

What I hate is that we are finally heading in the right direction as we approach March--I'd much rather have winter in winter than to go from a false spring back to winter. Anyway--if it can produce another winter event in March I'd gladly take that, too.

We are in the south, but its still winter time and you know February is suppose to be a cold month here also.  :snowwindow: At least in the mountains for sure.

Winter looks to be mostly over at this point.  Maybe we have a decent shot at something early March, but Feb looks like it’s circling the drain.

I really hate these winters now where you only get winter for half of the winter.

I agree, we only get half the winter anymore, February is suppose to be a cold winter month, this is ridiculous. I can see a week of this kind of weather but not the whole month.  :weep:

Now all we need is to get the cold and moisture here at the same time.

Doesn't seem to work out that way to often, awfully hard to get cold and moisture at the same time to have a good snow, it happens but we all know its worse than threading a needle.  :ee:

Man it is amazing how fast Fab Feb went to Feb Flub.  I wonder what it was that "faked" all the models out, or were we just projecting our desires onto their usually variable output?

well if the models flipped that fast one way they can very well flip back to the side we're looking for.  I still think we see a couple of good chances for more snow maybe even a big snow event thrown in there.

For us out west, it's a timing thing. Like Burell touched on, the cold Saturday has been trending colder and the sooner precip gets to us , 4-7 am, could make it a little interesting

The Sunday event could stay snow and sleet for a lot of folks if Saturday keeps trending colder.  Let's hope if it occurs it doesn't have a chance to change to rain.  Maybe this will be a create some cold air of it's own storm also.  :snowwindow:
