GFS has the weekend system sliding south of us. Nice hit for central and southern va. Another low on its heels into the week of the 11th. Looks like a nice 4-5 day refresh then we are back to tracking threats. Happens nearly every winter.

True....at least in those areas that saw snow. It's overperformed for every one.

Beautiful steady light snow in Odenton. Everything covered. Cold dust is the best.

Keep us posted w pics and obs today. I'm leaning towards heading to Canaan tomorrow and am using 6" as my threshold for go/not go.

Canaan looks to be the sweet spot for this. May need to run out there again this weekend.

Squall is beginning to develop in W Central PA. A bit lacking on the southern extent, but hopefully it's beef up as it expands eastward.

I'm always hesitant to buy into the idea that strong squalls make it this far east, but I'm interested in tomorrow. Most guidance shows it and the 0Z 3K NAM looks really good.

The updated LWX snowfall map pretty closes follows the 18Z GFS. 1-2 near the cities with a bit more N/W in the usual spots.

Also back to snow in Canaan, but man, that rain/fog/warmth did a number on their snowpack. They look to get 2-4/2-5 the next day or so on upslope.

No square hits, but 6z GFS is certainly active starting w early next week.

Not really all that concerned tbh. We still haven't hit best climo for snow around here....especially for the big ones and recent years have shown us that it can snow well into march. December and January and rarely big months for us, so expectations are usually kept in check. By my estimate, we still have about 8 weeks left to get accumulating snow. I'll take my chances.

GFS at 18Z put me to sleep, so it's nice to see something worth looking at on the FV3. The cold on the GFS really isn't that impressive. Seems fairly pedestrian for this time of year.

This weeks system looks juicy. Last thing we need is another 1-2" of rain.
