I see where you're coming from hoff, but all season long we've seen positive short range trends with systems. Maybe not for everyone, but for a large chunk of the area. No reason to assume that can't happen this time.
Some of these systems are going to leave some in the forum disappointed. No doubt we ride the taint line on some of the upcoming stuff, but looks like a fun period ahead starting Saturday.
0z 3k really lifts the warm air through the area quickly w the next batch of precip. Just a small amount of addtl snow accums even for the extreme northern areas.
IDK.....Sleet looks like the primary precip type tonight in the northern areas. Maybe folks pick up another 1-2, but then it's a sleet fest. I'm not seeing any reliable guidance spitting out several inches of additional snow.
Looks like if we are going to score in the next week or so, we need a slider. After that, looks like a number of possible solutions where we end riding the taint line. If that's what it'll take to score, so be it.
GFS has the weekend system sliding south of us. Nice hit for central and southern va. Another low on its heels into the week of the 11th. Looks like a nice 4-5 day refresh then we are back to tracking threats. Happens nearly every winter.
