  1. LOL at people complaining about a 4-6" storm. 1 foot snowstorms are not normal in these parts.
  2. I see where you're coming from hoff, but all season long we've seen positive short range trends with systems. Maybe not for everyone, but for a large chunk of the area. No reason to assume that can't happen this time.
  3. Trend? Did this not just sort of appear on our radar yesterday? Maybe the night before?
  4. Some of these systems are going to leave some in the forum disappointed. No doubt we ride the taint line on some of the upcoming stuff, but looks like a fun period ahead starting Saturday.
  5. Let's wait til tomorrow for a weekend threat thread. Keep the disco here. My .02.
  6. 0z 3k really lifts the warm air through the area quickly w the next batch of precip. Just a small amount of addtl snow accums even for the extreme northern areas.
  7. We're ok w Richmond not seeing snow if it's necessary for us to see it.
  8. Fozz and Zen just won't let go of that early season hit for the DC area.
  9. Mix line continues it's journey south...now dipping south of 70 near the B'more beltway.
  10. Mix line continues to slip a tad. Now mostly south of 795, but no longer on a straight line. These things are always fascinating to watch evolve.
  11. Mix is on an almost straight line from Frederick to Timonium/Cockeysville right now. It's sagged ever so slightly south in the last hour.
  12. IDK.....Sleet looks like the primary precip type tonight in the northern areas. Maybe folks pick up another 1-2, but then it's a sleet fest. I'm not seeing any reliable guidance spitting out several inches of additional snow.
  13. Expecting to see the northern tier reporting lots of sleet w the 2nd wave. Most snow accums limited to 2-3" in the best areas.
  14. Dude, you're seeing snow, please smile!!!
  15. I sure hope some of you are not buying the NAM output. 6-10 isnt happening.
  16. Looks like if we are going to score in the next week or so, we need a slider. After that, looks like a number of possible solutions where we end riding the taint line. If that's what it'll take to score, so be it.
  17. GFS has the weekend system sliding south of us. Nice hit for central and southern va. Another low on its heels into the week of the 11th. Looks like a nice 4-5 day refresh then we are back to tracking threats. Happens nearly every winter.
  18. True....at least in those areas that saw snow. It's overperformed for every one.
  19. Beltway has turned a nice shade of red on google maps.
  20. Beautiful steady light snow in Odenton. Everything covered. Cold dust is the best.
  21. Keep us posted w pics and obs today. I'm leaning towards heading to Canaan tomorrow and am using 6" as my threshold for go/not go.
  22. Canaan looks to be the sweet spot for this. May need to run out there again this weekend.
  23. -11 at canaan resort. -15 at a sensor on canaan heights rd a few miles north on 32.
  24. Squall is beginning to develop in W Central PA. A bit lacking on the southern extent, but hopefully it's beef up as it expands eastward.
