  1. That's the part that baffles me. The fear factor behind this one seemed to be turned to 11. It didn't make sense.
  2. The school thing is blowing my mind.. I have no idea what to anticipate here.. Is this going to be like the derecho? Or something more extended in time?
  3. Thats odd, AACo schools just declared a 2hr early dismissal tomorrow. I don't recall that ever happening. I could be wrong. Is this really going to be that bad?
  4. YES. I thought it was a jet in distress. Very strange sounding.
  5. what the actual hell!? I wasn't prepared for this, lol.
  6. My cars got a nice accumulation thus far.. But that seems to be it. I'm going to lean positive and be thankful I won't have to shovel things.
  7. Had a whole bunch of false starts, lost a degree (now 34) and now a less chonky snow is falling.
  8. Starting to see my snow chunks in my rain again.. Still 36f.
  9. Mysteriously gained a degree, 36f. My beautiful chunks have stopped falling.
  10. By being out of state, you manifested this blizzard into existence. Thank you for your service
  11. This is like a 2 week normal snow thread rollercoaster, condensed down into a day or two. Neat.
  12. I almost killed myself on my own driveway shovel mounds trying to get into my car today. I parked a bit too close to them, so I did the natural thing of thinking I could just step on the mounds like we were living some kind of normal snow event. Heck no. Solid block of ice. I even stomp tested it in anger. No give.
  13. Controversial, but my back is kind of glad we miss out this weekend It does seem weird what is happening with the plowing situation. I don't remember it ever going down like it has.. Is that just because of the 10 feet of sleet and the resulting depleted uranium coating? Day 1 I could shovel fine.. day 2 I switched to smash and remove mode.. day 3, c4
  14. Yeah, it did. Scared the crap out of me. It was about 3/4's closed when it blew, so it exploded and dropped like a boulder. I unlocked it from the trolly, but then I found out for the first time how heavy garage doors really are. I wonder if it was temp related, or I just have bad luck timing wise.
  15. Went outside to shovel at 20F, by the time I was done it hit 25F.. And my damn garage door spring snapped clean in half on the way back in..
  16. lol, holy crap. This is a mode of precipitation I have no experience with. Just had something come through that was like bags of beach sand being dumped from my roof.
