  1. I always thought the STJ stuff was a result of convection in the east pac. For instance if Nina was west based, you wouldn't have such cool waters in the eastern Pacific and naturally there will always be some convection there in the tropics.
  2. Yeah the rest of month looks meh. In October, it may be different..especially beyond first week.
  3. Yeah agree. Seems muted next week. Mild with maybe some humidity prior to the big fropa. Then we crack it like a lobster.
  4. This is pretty cool. I know this freaks many out, but this is good to see when the species is endangered. https://boston.cbslocal.com/2021/09/15/timber-rattlesnake-blue-hills-hiker-video/
  5. LOL...just saying I'm not sure that is a lock.
  6. Yeah I think he was hesitant on directly forecasting it, but just mentioned that some signals were there and the climate models (like euro seasonal) were showing it. Lets hope for some of that to come true.
  7. So many people have outdoor showers. Not tied into the septic or sewer. I doubt many pulled a permit or even hired someone...although I am not handy with plumbing so I would have to.
  8. Our seasonal guy was also seeing the mention of a weaker than normal vortex. While one as weak as last year is not expected, they do sometimes cluster or have a second "weak" year after the first stronger one. IOW, an aggregate -AO would not be a surprise even in a Nina. That would be great considering some evidence of strong Indonesia convection getting going and forecasted to get going.
  9. I'm fine with the summer wx. More time outdoors. Late Fall and Winter are going to be a mess, so lets hope for good snows.
  10. Although the sun has the biggest say, the years with little to no frosts through October really make the leaves stubborn. But once that frost or freeze comes...boom. I don't radiate on this mini hill and have a lot of oaks, so the leaves are stubborn. But after the 10/30 snow last year, it was amazing how the leaves just said "eff this" and fell off almost totally in 10 days.
  11. Summers will overall get warmer and more humid. Why is that so hard to deal with?
  12. LOL, I don't think so Tim. It's been warm and humid all around as of late. And we can revisit next week. Plenty of summer body surfing for you awaits.
  13. It's subjective. No doubt it's sliding, but to me, hasn't had that back broken feel. Been many warm and humid days. When I look at the EPS in the longer range, that is more of a back broken feel. It's a dumb argument too..lol. Some people feel less days near 90 is back broken...but I am truly waiting for that autumnal feel of a more prolonged stretch of cooler, drier days and crisp nights.
  14. I don't use that threshold because it's more for me. I like the sound and it being ice cold haha. Wife hates it. But to be fair, many nights it was needed. I just don't sleep well even with dews near 60.
  15. This is the guy next town over. No doubt it was cool to start, but lotsa of upper 70s to mid 80s too. He's at +1.2 to date thanks to the cool start.
