What commodity do you deliver? Did you move to AZ permanently?

At the time I delivered to Petsmart stores.

As for the move, it's "semi" permanent. I had to come out to take care of my ailing mother. I do want to stay permanently as I love it here, but a lot depends on external circumstances. Up to this point, my wife has refused to come out and join me here.

I'm on the fence as to what to do when the time comes for my mom to pass on. I love my wife, so I'm still hoping she will change her mind. Otherwise, I'll likely be heading back to PA.

Advisories were issued earlier this morning in the Laurels counties for mix/glaze of freezing rain (up to a tenth ice in the adjacent western MD counties). A larger portion of C-PA (likely the AOO-UNV-IPT corridor into NE PA) probably sees an initial period of wintry mix when the main precip arrives tomorrow morning given a pretty strong, though retreating high pressure over New England providing a CAD setup. High res guidance like the HRRR and that newer Rapid Refresh (RRFS) are more robust in cooling the 850mb layer on precip arrival and showing more frozen p-type (sleet and even snow). 3k NAM does show a bit of the same with regards to 850mb but shows freezing rain as a more dominant mix type. Reality is probably somewhere in between, with a better chance of a longer period of frozen the further north into PA one goes and biggest ZR impacts on the Laurel’s ridges and some of the adjacent ridges in the middle of the state.

Could be interesting to see if advisories end up being warranted a bit further into the central counties. As noted by CTP, surface and road temps are likely to be quite marginal for impacts. A period of heavier mixed (esp sleet) could change that a bit.

I have always enjoyed your analysis on winter events, Mag. You are a great service to our forum.

I must say, though, that I enjoy them even more now that they don't have direct implications for me...lol

    .09 rain from the event.

Got more rain today than you did. Our event produced 0.53" in my backyard so far and over an inch a few miles to my northwest.

As for my Tamaqua backyard, the rain gauge on my station stopped working, and I don't think my wife would know how to troubleshoot it.

Sunny and 65 - it is a spectacular day! Just came in from a lunchtime walk across campus and it feels wonderful to be outside.

Sounds like a normal to slightly below normal day here in Phoenix for late January.

Tell me again why people like bitter cold, arctic air...

27 degrees this morning, heavy frost.

Rant: I have a Weather bug app on my phone.

I am located north of Williamsport. Weather Bug is using Muncy location for my temperature reading. Over 15 miles away how is that accurate??

Just save your closest local PWS from Wunderground in your Chrome (or favorite browser) and open it up when you want to check conditions. That's what I do. I have my own backyard station in PA saved, as well as one that's about 3 blocks from the house here in Arizona.

Every generation always says that about the previous generation and we usually end up fine lol. Also Twitter sustains itself off of negative reactions and outrage which is why the site always pushes things to people that make them mad or upset since it makes the most money. It also helps create this false perspective of how the real world really is hence the intense polarization that has developed over the years. I started using the site years ago and only recently noticed just how much mental harm it had done to me recently which is true of almost all social media. Seriously that site is so bad for your mental health if you don't know how to curate things and stay away from the unhealthy stuff. Especially after Musk's blunder buying the site the amount of misinformation and disinformation is the worst I have ever seen it to the point I actively stay away from all trending tabs now. And that doesn't even scratch the service of the site being flooded with so many AI bots that are now so real it is practically impossible to tell who's real or fake on that site anymore leading to malicious folks having immense power to manipulate society however they see fit. My point is social media is bad for you lol

Yeah, for the most part it is. I don't do X (or Twitter or whatever they'll call it next). Looking at the OT side of this board it's pretty obvious that itll rot your brain...lol

I do like Facebook for some things though. I find out about group Jeep runs through it by being in the local groups.

There was a slight inversion over here as a couple hundred feet down they were in the 35-37 area.  THV takes inversion and expands upon it.  LOL

Biggest inversion I've ever seen was a morning a few years back where I had to scrape frost in Tamaqua and when I got to work up the hill in Hazleton it was in the low 50's.

I've only made 3 or 4 significant wagers in my life - and this series was one of them. I won a nice chunk of change last night. The whole thing threw me into turmoil; honestly, there was a big part of me that wanted the Phillies to win for all of the fans in this thread. (and my family as well) But...

I really can't explain it. Similar to hunches I get during the winter, my baseball senses were telling me that Arizona was going to win the series. I went with it and put down the wager. I was well rewarded. I've yet to lose a bet, obviously making just a few in my lifetime, I really pick my spots and won't do so unless I'm really feeling it. And that was my most compelling reason...a hunch. Can't explain it, but it's worked every time.

Congrats on the win! I wish I'd have been brave enough to go for it, but was on a two month layoff while we were switching to a new dedicated account, so I couldn't do it.

Ha, I'm happy with either winning but it'd be awesome for Texas to claim its first title.

We've had pretty much an improbable run most of the season, and continuing in the post. I should have dropped a grand on the Dbacks going to the World Series. I'd have a nice nest egg of winnings right now.

That being said, while I want my Snakes to win, if we lose, I won't be too upset knowing it'll be the Rangers first ever championship.

@VoyagerGreat job and good luck! 100 plus losses 2 years ago to WS title chances. Awesome!

Thanks! Even this spring, I don't think many thought we'd even be a .500 club. I guess the kids were hungry. There is good talent on the team, though. We'll see next year if this was a fluke, or if they're the real deal.

  12. For the Philly fans here. I copied it from Facebook, but it's actually pretty clever...lol

Our Father, who art in Philly, baseball be thy name. Though Diamondbacks come, your will be done, and let us win game 7. Give us this day our triple play, and forgive us our errors, as we forgive those who jeer against us. Lead us not into elimination, but deliver us from Diamondbacks . For Harper, Turner, and Schwarber are the power, the glory, for Philly......forever.

    AMEN
