Just listening to the radio this morning and they said it's been 138 days since it last rained at Sky Harbor Airport. So far this year's monsoon has been a nonsoon, at least in Phoenix.

Its not normal to wake up (or be woken up) between 5-6am on the weekends?
I'm so used to getting up between 1am and 3am on work days that I can't sleep past 5 on weekends. My body is dialed in to early wake up times.

Maybe he's coming out and gonna bring you back to Pa. I think Bubbler has a ransom on you. And if Canderson completes the mission, he gets a roll of shingles.
Omg...too funny!!!

Canderson is attending a concert out there next weekend so hopefully it dodges his area.

Looks like our monsoon will finally get started out here this weekend, particularly Sunday. Now is when the weather gets interesting in the desert, but it's harder to figure out if you're going to get slammed or not, as the monsoons most often pulse and form along outflow boundaries.
Although when we get a good valley-wide meso, it's an awesome show of some of the most intense lightning, wind, and rainfall you'll ever see. One of the best I saw was when I lived in Avondale, along I-10 in the west valley. One dropped down from the north, and one came up from the southwest, and merged right over the area, and created one of the best natural "fireworks shows" I'd ever seen.

Just to put the historical southwest heatwave into perspective...
DISCUSSION...
The list of broken records to continue to grow for the climate
sites across the region during this extremely hot and dry period.
Consecutive days of high temperatures at or above 110 degrees and
low temperatures at or above 90 degrees rolls on across central
Phoenix, with little chance (~10%) of any day over the next week
of the high temperature being below 110 degrees. Not only are the
temperatures above 110 degrees for the highs, but the daily high
temperature records in Phoenix continue to be broken (seven of
the last eight days either tied or broke the previous record) and
is likely (70-80%) of equaling or exceeding the record
temperature of 118 degrees for today. Additionally, this
exceptional dry period has grown to 120 days, which is good for
6th on the all-time longest dry streaks for Phoenix.

Did that line kind of split in Schuylkill County, or did my eyes deceive me?

Ridiculous.
So the official Phoenix high at Sky Harbor was 118 which officially broke the consecutive days of 110+ record.
Here in my backyard in Sun City, we were one degree cooler at 117...

That's amazing. Tamaqua sits at 31.95" so far this year. Nearly double yours. Clearly a case of the haves and have nots.
