  1. You should rise on one of those ramps in a big truck. Being able to see over the retaining walls gives an even greater illusion to the height than just being in a car.
  2. Thanks. Hauling water is one of the easiest trucking jobs I've had. Winter cold tries one's patience though. Hoses turn into PVC pipes, caps freeze on, valves freeze shut. Then there's the ever present fear that the vent froze shut. If that happens, especially when we're unloading, a good tank trailer ends up in the scrap yard.
  3. Way too cold actually. I've loaded water at -8 up in Hazleton in the past. It sucks, though. Everything freezes almost instantly.
  4. Sunday night keep getting colder... Sunday Night Clear, with a low around 6.
  5. I guess I've got a pretty good eye (despite the beginnings of macular degeneration) because earlier I said it looked like we got about 2 inches and that graphic shows Tamaqua at 1.9 inch.
  6. Still snowing here. Eyeballing perhaps 2 inches on the ground. Temp is 33.
  7. Finally, just before bedtime, the snow arrived. Everything is covered, including the street.
  8. Nice! That's what I'm hoping to see when I get up for work tomorrow morning, but I'm beginning to wonder if delayed is denied.
  9. Still basically nada here. Only a few random flurries.
  10. Not two minutes after I posted that, the first flurries started falling...lol
  11. I'm really hoping it starts before my 7:30 bedtime. My luck it'll start between 8 and 9 here, and by my 1:30am wake up time it'll be rain or freezing rain.
  12. 32/26 at 4:20pm. First wave on radar just passed through and was straight virga. Haven't seen a flake or a pinger yet.
  13. That's crazy. It's a pure lead gray sky over here...
  14. 31/26 here under the darkening skies of a thickening cloud deck. No precipitation yet, but it looks like some virga is knocking on the door.
  15. Rain, possibly mixed with sleet or snow after 1am for me per CTP. I'm sure the roads will be just wet with that, plus PennDot salt. I was hoping for a delayed start tomorrow, but it appears to be just a shitty weather long day for me. Wish the snow would have hung on until daybreak.
  16. If that's the case, I'm gonna be decorating the spare tire on my Jeep this morning...
  17. I posted that I expected them to soon be hoisted. Does that count? lol
  18. NWS Binghamton just issued winter advisories to go along with the ones Pittsburgh issued earlier. I'm guessing CTP will follow suit for some counties sometime soon.
  19. I rarely look at pressure on my station, but this post prompted me to do so. I recorded a high of 30.91 earlier myself. It's since fallen to 30.87
  20. Well, "technically" I dropped into the single digits, but officially, if I don't drop another half a degree, I'll record a 10 for the morning low.
  21. Down to 10.4 degrees at 5:30am, so might drop into the single digits this morning for the low. And my forecast from CTP went from less than one inch of snow Sunday night to now 1-2 inches for the pre-rain portion of the storm. Sunday Night Snow before 4am, then rain and snow. Low around 30. Southeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  22. I know how you feel. Our latest rescue turned out to be my buddy. Not only does he follow me around, but will anticipate my move and bolt to where he thinks I'm going. And I can't help but fuss with him, which is just what he wants.
