  1. Too far away to see or hear it, but some of the squalls have some convection embedded in them...
  2. Thanks, and I was going to post something about the job and the correlation to snow in CPA, but I figured you've all heard it before...lol
  3. Madrid, Spain has Texas beat for this one.... Crazy snowfall in a place that rarely gets snow.
  4. I'm quite firmly in the cold people group, and each winter gets worse.
  5. What???? OMG, and to think I go outside and freeze and shiver.
  6. I could do without the excess wind, though...
  7. We had about an inch of snow this morning, but mostly rain and some sleet in Tamaqua proper this afternoon/evening.
  8. Well, I'm certainly not excited to see these long write-ups about the upcoming pattern. Especially since I'm looking to FINALLY get back to work (hopefully) from my Covid and shoulder surgery induced hiatus. In fact, it downright terrifies me to think I may come out of the house in a potentially dangerous and far from ideal pattern for a commercial truck driver. I wish I had the resources to sit out the whole of winter and wait for spring, but I can't...
  9. We had 2.59" of the liquid variety yesterday and overnight. No snow at all, though, which is ok by me. Those of you who know me quite well know that besides snow when I'm working, I hate when a storm gives all the roads and cars a powerwashing and cleans all the salt up, just for an inch at the tail end to put all the salt back on again. So I'm fine if we don't get any snow over this way. You guys in true central can have my share today... Oh, and Merry Christmas, everyone!
  10. That squall line meant business when it blew through Schuylkill County. Most of our summer thunderstorms don't have rainfall that intense.
  11. This is what's left of my foot of snow from last week...
  12. I was just going to ask, what's up with these huge dryslots lately? I though this was supposed to be a solid rainer prior to fropa...
  13. My radar apps been showing a lot of red (heavy) returns down that way for awhile.
  14. Looks like I-95 in MD from Baltimore to Philly got pounded. I'd love to see the rain totals from that corridor...
  15. That it did. Even the Delaware (which almost claimed my car) was bad. I parked in a parking lot on Larry Holmes Drive in Easton to check out the river, and the ice jammed up downstream, and I literally had to sprint to my car to get it moved. Fifteen minutes later, the lot was under 4-6 feet of water.
  16. Check out CTP's briefing package for today into this weekend. It's 15 pages long... https://www.weather.gov/media/ctp/Briefing/briefing.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1wbiwd-OmTl_PQHqDbaeS1nOTxFpu-YxC3VMGz-9H1xl1v0aZ0Zeh6rJw
  17. Thanks! I'm hoping that someone will see my 20 years of safe driving and make an exception to the recent experience requirement. As for the weather, it appears that the rain is going to be the biggest issue. Some of the models are creeping up to the 4 inch mark for tomorrow in my "backyard". That kind of rain, along with the currently saturated soil will cause BIG problems if the high wind gusts mix down to the surface.
  18. Off topic, but need to vent... Twenty years of Class A tractor trailer driving experience means nothing these days. Since I've been driving a motorcoach for the past 2 years and have been out of work due to Covid and my shoulder injury, I no longer have the required "recent" experience that the insurance companies require. It's starting to look like I'm fooked for tractor trailer work now. This sucks...
  19. That would be me...lol But...only when I'm back at work. This storm, almost every one of the models wants to give me about 3 inches of rain. That plus saturated ground from the melting snow pack plus any kind of high wind gusts (50mph+) gusts might spell a dark night tomorrow.
  20. Why are we talking about the Tug Hill on a Central PA thread?
  21. Yeah, just about right over my house. Of course I'd be in the jackpot zone for RAIN...
