The “I bring the mojo” Jan 30-Feb 1 potential winter storm
buckeyefan1 replied to lilj4425's topic in Southeastern States
Ya’ll, I absolutely love when GSP talks like this There has also been a signal for a "dry slot" between snow bands in the general vicinity of northeast Georgia, although where this occurs is still uncertain - but even there warning criteria snow should still be realized. The ceiling is high with this event and a swath of 8-12"+ totals cannot be ruled out where the greatest banding is able to set up shop. -

Ya’ll, it sure doesn’t take much precip to get great totals with these ratios. When mby got 9” back in ‘10 it was only the equivalent of about .27 I loved that storm

We all know that if social media puts it out there, it must be true -
Because it’s only an app. It can’t hold all the information. It changes several times a day. It’s great for watching radar, but never ever use an app to make your plans regarding the weather.

I’m honestly not sure, but my thinking is it would be a winter storm over ice storm if there’s more sleet/snow and an ice warning for above .50 with less sleet/snow. A lot of counties with a shit ton of elevation changes on top of model madness in handling the wedge will take time to sift through it all. That warm nose is as stout as the wedge and it’s going to be an awesome battle to watch unfold

Looks like GSP will wait for another round of model runs before deciding on the specific warning. You know it’s going to be difficult when the short term guidance that always runs warm is the coldest of them all

Had another face cord delivered for the second time this year. The past 2 years I’ve only gone through one face cord. Breakfast casseroles stocked and today will be dinner prep so I can wrap it in foil and set it on the coals to heat. My camping grill broke and I’m sure I won’t find any left. No generator, but a small 250w solar powered camping one, but it can be charged with my car if there’s no sun. It’s perfect for small appliances and keeping the internet on. The support pup now has backup shoes and socks and another waterproof coat. Kitties have new high rise beds for easier access to fireplace warmth to keep them from fighting for the coveted place on the hearthstone. Plastic is pulled out to section off the living room. Laundry done. Necessities stocked. I’m about as ready as I can be with mom still in the hospital and preparing for 2 places separated by 3+hrs
