Just about 10" here. Unfortunately it appears the winds weren't favorable for Boulder/Denver overnight which left us in a bit of a precip hole. The question at this point will be whether I can get to 20" - not sure it's going to happen.
I was reading that apparently a Denver cyclone formed overnight and created a downslope for y'all.

Pretty brutal miss (thus far) here in the city. Really hope the Estes crew cashed in or hopped in the car for Wyoming.
Not sure about in town at EP, but so far not bad north of town. I was hoping for 40"+ this weekend, but it doesn't feel like we get there. Maybe we exit today at 30-32"...which is still great. It depends on when the spigot shuts off obviously.

19" so far IMBY, and estimating about 12" of that fell after midnight. Kind of hard to tell how much more today...HRRR is looking crazy high on additional QPF, but it looks like the moisture train to the east is drying for points north. EDIT - that is, for northern Colorado.

How far N/NE of downtown Estes are you staying
I live in Glen Haven. About 6 or 7 miles north of Estes.
-
I say we get there, no problem.

Larimer and Weld doing quite well, it is getting heavy up here. Radar seems to be filling in east and southeast of Denver, so I think everyone eventually gets into the party.

I25 just closed btwn Wellington and WY border.

The 3-km NAM still has 2.05" of QPF for me, and that's from 00z, not that long ago, so that would be roughly 20" from 5:00PM onward-- and I've only gotten about 2+ inches since 5:00PM.
I think you have a shot to get it. Take a look at the river coming in from the east, this is classic.

haha right, gaping hole. good thing things seem to be moving quickly still
Yeah, returns are cranking to the NNW. Much faster.

I am going with absolute faith that the massive gap around Denver fills in soon.

Finally, starting to crank in Glen Haven.

Ohh that’s a place I was just looking at myself for maybe last second move. There’s an Inn I saw near you.
Yeah, but not sure it is open with Covid. It is a mom and pop place owned by an elderly couple. I haven't seen any activity there for the past year.

I am in Glen Haven, which is a few miles north of EP. EDIT - a town of about 200. No hotel, so I would think EP is still a good base for you.

It's hard to stay positive on this mess. As I look at my gauge with a measly .08 so far.

Yes, AFD mentions heaviest snow from 06z to 18z Sunday.

Graupel just started up here in Glen Haven. Temps are 28.

Starting a new topic for this storm. I don't think we've done that in a very long time. Snow/rain/UP started here at 10:42, 35 F.
LOL, as in never. Great plan though.

Question. When you look at the 3km NAM for example it seems there’s a little snow hole over Estes. Do models handle the elevation here, should I consider a last second trip N a bit?
Estes is in a bowl shaped valley. There are no hotels nearby in any direction, so you are probably as close as you can get without sleeping in a car . Sometimes that little bowl makes a small difference, sometimes no effect.

FWIW, here are eyeballed 12z para GFS QPF totals:
Boulder: 3.3"
Denver: 3.0"
FoCo: 3.3"
Estes: 3.4"
Centennial: 3.1"The para has been looking really weird for the past couple of runs. For example, going from Boulder up to Nederland the QPF actually drops with elevation. Generally a similar look up and down the front range. Odd. Maybe not as juicy column?

Here is a link to a weather station and webcam from one of my neighbors, north of Estes Park by about 8 miles and in a prime spot to perform in this storm. A bit foggy currently. http://www.retreatweather.com/West-Image.php

Sounds good! Looking at some Estes Park area webcams, looks like occasional flakes, the calm before the storm.
Tiny little mood flakes, but starting to pick up. Got a giant pot of chili on the burner, and prepped for the long haul

Last weekend's storm did wonders on catching most of the Northeastern CO region on seasonal snowfall. From the NWS this morning, contrasting seasonal totals prior to the storm and totals following the storm:
