  1. CMC evolution for this weekend looks wonky. Not sure that I belive the dual HP structure in the land of the canooks is gonna force rd#1 ENE beyond our latitude. GFS, Icon and Euro loops at a glance would seem more reasonable IMO.
  2. Son got married on saturday and weather was just fantastic. Looks like a possible rainer for next weekend, but Im guessing subtle changes and maybe even further west jog is in play (looking at UL's.) Good football weather....epsecially if a couch or bar is included , otherwise it may be a BROWNout.
  3. Sounds like a good plan. Yeah driving wet would suck. Plenty of time for things to shift a bit. Dont fret....yet.
  4. at least they are getting more consistent, as they now seem to be pulling the qpf rug out all year, and not just when snow is forecasted. Not sure we find any solace in that, but it is wierd how with all of the advances, there is still alot of work to do in that regard.
  5. move in weekend for my kid, so I'm right w/ ya.
  6. Yeah we gotta feel some kinda special if those maps verify. To your point, if we can pull off a normalish December, I'd think many would be just fine w/ that. While its not prime time, if its feeling seasonal, thats a big + in my book. While we were sans snow...last year was the most normal feeling December that I can remember in a while. Was nice. Noone wants to revisit the mental images of @sauss06 in bermuda shorts for Christmas. J/k buddy. If anyone can pull it off, you can.
  7. Yeah my plumb trees are over 50% dropped as well. Forgot to mention them.
  8. No matter what, its early fall, and that means heat gets the top knocked off and longer nights (even though they run warm of late, still help. Drought really kickin the early leaf drop for the maples (and others maybe?). solid month ahead of schedule IMO.
  9. . Good stuff. Mitch's prognostication has a better chance of verifyin....just sayin. Its great going into the kids fridge and robbin it blind of beer. He's already bitchin abt it. Life just got a little better as the tides have turned a tad. hes got me for cheap labor (ripping out carpets as well as rippin out steps and putting all new wood in as well, so i dont feel bad whatsoever. 1/2 case of beer for a 3 day work weekend fee is cheap imo.
  10. LMAO....friggin hillarous (and likely true)....AFTER she has a couple kids (she wants that sooner than later.) Thanks for the kind words. Hoping all's well w/ your young fam.
  11. and if memory serves, you can often lump a good chunk of fall onto the burn pile? You stat guys can correct me if I'm wrong.
  12. didnt some smart guy punt 90's recently??? I've gotten much better w/ tolerating heat. Humidity is still a sticking point for me though. I was painting at my sons new house all weekend, and yeah I was moist, but it didnt feel unbearable to me. He gets married 9/16, and it looks to like it may be an early fall preview during that time. It's all good by me.
  13. and for the record, I'm not into sacrificing ANY period of time when it can snow, but its not hard to see that Decembers dont often produce down in our hoods. Norther/westers....usually a diff story (like last year).
  14. Well last year looked great for december and we all know how that turned out. While many of us like to get out of the gates early, Dec. is usually a toss up and not prime time anyway, so if we must wait for things to get a better look, so be it. From this WAY early lead, cautious optimism that we've not looking down the barrel of another wall to wall ratter is ok by me. Hoping that look out west can hold wrt PNA and Aleutians.
  15. Nice to see you back (and now in our forum). Been starting to look at long lead as the building nino may help with some fun periods this year. I've seen a few early looks on the web and lets just say....i'd take what i read in a heartbeat.
  16. While I'm a weather geek, I'm not a stats guy, so I'd defer to my local geeks for that info. If memory serves, it actually came from Millersville Univ. Dept of met. so I'll call it "credible"
  17. Agreed. .9" for me in southern Pa.... yes, you read that correctly.
  18. I'm hoping we are using all of our "colder than normal" chips up for the year.
  19. some mesos showed my area getting split in the qpf distribution yesterday, and that was a correct map. akron got a couple drops yesterday evening, and NWS showing no rain overnight (although the ground was moist when leaving for office). looks like many did well though.
  20. Yep. Was thinking the same thing a few minutes ago at last look. Not diggin it, and if the mesos are right that bow is over my head at some point.
  21. this mornings view of some mesos showed a couple lines forming, but wasnt a strong look as most showed the main show for dinner time taking center stage.
  22. Never have been and never will be. "Someones pain is someones pleasure" has always come to mind when folks inside and outside the weather fetish wish for it to happen. Hope we just get some run of the mill stuff but it looks to be poppin W/SW of here so batten down the hatches all.
  23. Enjoy running on the chocolate milk :). Jokin aside, I'd think you'll be ok. watch out for trees/debris tho.
  24. I hope its not storm phobia for your pup. My first Golden had storm phobia and went literally batshit during storms. My Golden (Nash) was a therapy dog, and one of the best trained/obedient dogs I've come by, but when storms came....he blew thru screens to get outside, tried to jump out of send floor window (daughters room on bed), chewed 30" of garage door (after forcing is way OUT of cage w/ blankets over it (docs orders to try to calm him during storms). Rescue Remedy is very helpful to calm them. Toughest part is that it takes about 30 min to take hold, and you almost need to do it in advance to take the edge off. Hoping your pups ok.
