  1. The leaves are getting that "leathery" look...
  2. Someone in Windsor, MA reported 6.5" new snow to the NWS this morning. Are they the Lunenberg of W Ma?
  3. Yeah... I've heard different spins on this... We voted early not so much due to Covid, but for our work schedules it was better (and quick... no line at all)
  4. My building has been used as a polling place for at least 10-12 years. I've never seen the parking lot so full on election day or the lines to wait... and that's after Mass has had a record number of early voters... and the weather is good at least!
  5. Yeah... this stuff can make it treacherous if they don't treat it. It was pretty well forecast
  6. Happy belated birthday. Glad you saw a little snow yesterday
  7. Yeah. It would be good if they would target this stuff more precisely. I walked my dog around our entire hood this afternoon (freakin’ cold) without a mask. We saw...no one. Maybe some kids playing in a yard. I don’t think they will arrest me
  8. It’s kind of a toothless mandate. Just requests really. It also makes broad brush statements that don’t make sense in some places. But I get why
  9. Gust front coming through now. Winds picked up in intensity
  10. Lol. Exactly the same here (or at least a mile from here)
  11. Most of my oaks are bare or close to it.
  12. Things iced up pretty well here after the plows. Salt was needed.
  13. We gave out full sized bars and had them set out on an illuminated table in our driveway. We sat by a fire pit some distance away. We still have a ton of bars left
  14. The full moon on the snow was brilliant. Almost like daytime at 4AM
  15. Well, you don’t have to follow the times. They are more like guidelines than actual rules.... Most cities and towns around here set times
  16. Got pretty cold towards the end. Our town for some reason extended trick or treat by an hour. It was 27F when we wrapped things up. Way fewer trick or treaters
  17. Just need to slow it down. That was always the idea. Buy time until effective treatments and vaccine are developed. Masks and social distancing help in that a bit. Not 100%. Testing helps slow down outbreaks a bit. Not 100%.
  18. That sounds pretty typical. It still will help with influenza even if it it doesn’t nail it. In 2004-2005 it was only 10% effective. Oof
  19. Jury is still out. Behavior might play a bigger role than the vaccine. But we get it anyway.
  20. Yeah. It looks odd with them raining down on the tapestry of white. Most of my oak leaves are down thankfully. Stick season will be here soon
  21. Im hopeful this year’s flu vaccine is effective. Plus there is some (albeit weak) evidence it might be helpful vs Covid-19 https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/a-flu-shot-might-reduce-coronavirus-infections-early-research-suggests/
