It’s coming at some point.  We won’t fight off the central US ridge all summer.  Once that SE Canada trough relaxes, or even blinks, it’ll get hot.

Sort of like even largely crap winters often have a 4 week period of decent chances.  It may be short or hangs on the second half of summer, hard to say.

The winter equivalent is sort of like seeing some signs of sustained change around MLK weekend or late January.  We’d hope February into March is winter…. That’s what HHH fans are hoping, that August into September is a sustained stretch.  Not the worst thing to have some of that show up for a bit for the variety.

We expect to be HHH late July and August, up to now have had great golf weather almost every wednesday so far. Tonight was perfect, enough breeze to keep the bugs away.

So we have 3 definites and 3 maybe’s so far for the 17th at a course tbd in NECT. Likely CT National or Thompson Raceway.

    Yes: me, Ken, davisstraight

Maybe, modfan, mrreaves, Chris (late tee of only)

We’ll let this marinate into the weekend so more folks can chime in.

We might be better teeing off at 2pm, it's usually thinned out by then unless there's a big league that night at the Raceway, I can call and ask and report back.

Wachusett was gorgeous. Greens were immaculate. Only downside was slow play. Not sure if it was just the holiday or if it's usually like that.

Probably the holiday, most courses are packed on the 4th weekend.

A few more pics from the Italian alps. The Roman “bridge” (technically an aqueduct) was built in 3bc and it’s still standing. They put in a glass floor inside and it’s scary as f.

It's amazing what the ancient romans accomplished at the time.

Anybody play wachusett recently? I haven't played it in years but I'm going to play it on Monday.

I haven't played it in a while but always liked it, fast greens from what I remember.

Connecticut national. Played it last Sunday 89 dollars with a cart. It was in spectacular shape. Food and beer is very reasonable.

A little more expensive but it's a great course, the new owner really did a great job with the course. We've had a couple of our year end tournaments there and it's a great course.  I'm down for either.

OK so let’s find a saturday later this month to do this gtg. I think The Ranch is the best spot but a course in NECT may get our SEMA peeps involved so I’m open to whatever. Getting two foursomes would be decent.

    Suggestions?

I'll go to the Ranch but if you want a suggestion for NE guys, Thompson Raceway, I think someone already mentioned the course earlier, nice 18 hole course with good burgers. I'm in anyplace you guys decide.

What are people's personal par scores?  My home 9-hole course is a par 35.  I consider my "personal" par to be bogey golf or 44.  When I play really well, I can break 40 when I play decently it's between 40 and 45 and anything over that I consider to be a pretty crappy performance. Do others think of scoring in those terms?  Am I just "settling" for bogey golf?

Front is 35, back is 36, bogey golf is an average night for me as depicted by my handicap, have broke 40 a few times but have also broken 50 on a terrible night. Last 3 weeks have been 41, 50, 41, good weather tonight so hoping I play better.

So I tossed pumpkins into the woods in the fall behind my house where I put all my grass clippings, old mulch, dirt, etc etc.

I have a full fledged pumpkin plant growing. It’s pretty cool.

Same thing happened to my brother in law, it grew in a pile of grass clippings

What is this?  Sounds like a fastpass for a ride a Disney.  Is this a separate travel lane that costs (additional) money to drive on?

Yes, there's four lanes and the lane to the left is only for those with an express pass. There would be traffic going slow and packed in the other three lanes and hardly anyone in the express lane so you can fly with the pass. It was worth it for the week, I'd have to ask my wife what it costs but maybe it's expensive for people that live there because there wasn't many people in that lane.

7 days.   Lots of driving ahead.   I would prefer to stay in one area to avoid the driving, but got to keep the group happy.

If I did it again I'd do it the way you're doing it, we were tied to one spot so Rocky National Park was over two hours away, would have spent a night or two there if I wasn't booked in Denver the whole time. Boulder's a cool town, went to Colorado Springs, Pike's Peak and Red Rock. Also caught a ball game at Coors Field. Beautiful Park with plenty of leg room. Get the Express option for the highway, makes travel much quicker, worth every penny.

I was out there in 2005. Definitely an amazing area. Lots of weather variety driving at 12k.

We went in May, we had a few days in the 70's and two days in the 30's for highs with one day spitting snow all in Denver. The towns in a little higher elevations had several inches of snow.

Last summer we hit Iceland. This summer we will be getting Rocky Mountain High in Colorado.  Lots of driving incoming

How long you going for Dave? We went the first week of May for 8 days, stayed in the Southern part of Denver, there's so much to see there we couldn't possibly cover it all in 8 days.

Find the couple things that you are doing well and just keep repeating them. I spent a whole summer one time playing every tee shot to 135 yards so I could hit pitching wedge into the green because it was only club I felt consistently confident in.

Even Tiger used to do that, if he was hitting his 3 wood great that day he would set up where he could use it more often, it's a good strategy to score better.

No controversy here. Fenway blows unless you are in a box or playing in the game.

My sisters company had seats in the State Street Pavillion and behind the dugout, those are the best seats Ive ever had to watch the game. Almost every other seat sucked so no argument from me. Even the Monster seats have a big blind spot and they're very expensive.
