You have?  I haven’t seen them flying in unison in a long time.  Definitely one of those vibe type things… cloudy low ceiling, breezy, cool and geese being noisy as they fly by.  Pumpkin spice commercial stuff, ha.

There was one with a busted wing shitting on the dock daily at the lake in NE CT.  Couldn’t fly, but seemed to be quite full of crap.

Heard them over the golf course Sunday, thought it was a little early but maybe they know more than us.

I came home from work yesterday and did absolutely nothing and it seemed to settle down quite a bit. I’ve read that if it’s not bad, it can heal some, or at least not get worse.

I have a colonoscopy scheduled for November partially do to this pain, but I’m starting to think it really has not much to do with that.

I had a hernia and at the same time extreme back pain, nothing I tried relieved it. Once I had the hernia surgery my back pain disappeared. The doctor didn't think the hernia had anything to do with the back pain but I disagree.

I've read, from experienced landscapers, that transplanting usually leaves about 90% of a tree's roots behind, hence the importance of daily watering in T-plus a year.  One nursery owner would give purchasers of trees two small bottles, one of green liquid and one of red.  He guaranteed all trees, replacement or money back, if the buyer would put 3 drops of green and 3 of red daily, as watering was done.  Water plus food coloring - it was just a reminder to water.

I dug a Rhody and gave it to my brother, we planted it at his house and no matter how much watering we did it looked like it died, the next year it came back to life, I was surprised I thought it was dead for good.

When we had to replace the water heater a few years ago, we went with a hybrid. It uses a heat pump along with a standard element to heat the water. The bonus is that the heat pump also acts as a dehumidifier.

I want to get one of those, is it efficient?

I think it’s easy. What are you trying to save? The epicormic ones growing straight up from the main branches? The 1 year wood from those are good for grafting. All you need to do is get rootstock to graft them on to. Some people have air layered branches, but it can be tricky. You can either grow out your own seedlings from seed (kinda late for that considering the suckers are getting mature) or get some seedling or nemaguard stock from a site. Cummins should have some the 2nd half of winter. I’ll be getting some pear stock from them.

Is the epicormic ones I'm supposed to trim off?

Prices on lobster are way down now. Does this mean Reds isn't charging $40 for a roll now?

Price in Maine where I was Tuesday was $5.99 lb, we stopped at a restaurant and I asked how much for the 1 1/4 lb boiled lobster and it was $52, I passed.

The record books say only 1888 I think was better, but I haven’t read much on the wind during that event.  Either way as a kid that 1993 storm was one of my first true snowstorm memories as like a wow, this is on another level compared to snow we get around here.  I’m not sure if it blocked out everything before that but I can’t remember any specific snowstorm prior to that in my childhood.

Anyway, nice trip down memory lane.  I love when Will starts posting more frequently, we start talking snow.

And that storm capped off an overall great winter here, 3 out of 4 years back then were damn good.

Thompson Dam was ridiculously low.  That thing is like earth islands between large puddles.  Never would’ve known half of that stuff was there under the surface.  Saw some folks like walking on the bed surface that’s usually like 4-5 feet of water.

    Any dead bodies in barrels?

I take my dog for walks up there, nice trails.

Hurricane Gloria in ‘85 for me. Watched the updates the night and days before. Hard to imagine living in an era now when when we could only get updates from TV Mets or radio or the old weather line

Forgot about that one, spent the night at my girlfriends (now wife) and stayed up most of the night, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Given that 200 gallons might, might get me through 2 months of a warmer winter stretch up here the heat pump at worst is net neutral on cost. Paired it with solar panels to offset the electricity, so once the heat pumps are paid off I estimate we'll save ~2000 a year.

You lease or own the solar?
