Agreed. Imo, living through 78 as a soon to be 10 yr old 5 weeks afterwards, 78 had longer lasting winds, and thus bigger drifts, and even longer lasting blizzard conditions. But Feb 13 had even more snow than 78 here, with legit 6”+/hr rates that were absolutely mind boggling to witness.
Feb ‘13 finally lived up to the performance and ferocity of 1978 for me…and I pretty much treat/think of them as equals for my area. Until that point, nothing had lived up to 78 here. But Feb 13 finally did for me. Both incredible storms.
Where you are I can see that, but more East 78 was by far better, drifts like I've never seen before or after, not that 13 was a slouch, just not in the same class here.

It was a great storm... Forecasting was excellent... But sleet was a limiting factor for some... Great triple phaser...
Schwoegler was talking about that storm days before it happened and was nutso in the days leading up to it. I knew when he got excited it was time for me to get excited.

We had 20” in ORH in ‘93 storm but it was a local max. Very few spots in New England even got 2 feet.
The largest area of 2 feet in New England is almost certainly Feb ‘69 and Feb ‘13 was pretty impressive too. I’d say 2013 even outdid 1978 in New England as a whole for aerial coverage of 24”+.
If we want to include March 1888 then that is right up there with Feb ‘69.
The March 93 storm was really the cherry on the top of a great sundae so wasn't so disappointed I didn't get two feet. The year as a whole was great.

Type n mortar followed by closed cell spray foam, $$$ or Plastic water membrane with French drain below. Lastly, spray Shotcrete. Good luck
That will do it but cost a few bucks, also make sure all water drains away from the house. Took my brother a while to figure he had that happening in one corner.

craft beer has reached saturation, there are just so many options. there is a packie near me that sells nothing but craft beer. the number of brands, types, and styles of craft beer is mind boggling. I think you nailed it: Too many breweries now.
Place near me has an addition that has all craft beers, there's a sick amount out there now.

I was a tee boy that season. I think Toys-R-Us had a contest and you could run out and grab the tee after the first kick off. I think it was the Browns game I got the honor.
It wasn't going to last forever, but I did think Bill would walk away. Even though this was "mutual" I think he got led out the door. I do think the team underestimates what a draw he was. Players whether they liked him or not always viewed him as a lottery ticket to a Super Bowl. With that gone, I don't think people are knocking down the doors to come to Foxboro.
If they win, they will come.

Yup, I’d flush everyone. Friends and family of bill, you’re gone.
I don't get the family part, his son's a coach on the defense, one of the best in the league, Bill's a defensive coach so probably that's why but the offensive side was the problem and has been since TB left. I like the way the D is, redo the whole offensive side of coaching, let the new guy do what he wants, if he keeps some guys on D, so what.

For Treehouse, I'm not sure if they limit how much you can buy as take-home. I have seen people with 2 wheelers with dozens of cases
They might have changed since the beginning but guys at the golf course would complain about that when it first opened, I've never been.

Credit should be given where it's due. However, it's clear they don't prioritize spending on the team now like they did in years past. There's a reason the Sox are called Tampa Bay North now
Or, it could be they have a long term plan we're not privy too, time shall tell.

The Belichick press conference is hitting pretty hard right now
He seemed, I don't know, upset? He said umm a lot, maybe he was emotional and that's his way.

such a ridiculous markup, but we keep paying for it
The markup and what business limits to how much you can buy? They have a huge parking lot full of people waiting in line to overpay for their product and then they say, you can only have so much, crazy.

Not sure how much more my basement can handle.
Anyone got any tips on how to waterproof a fieldstone basement?
At my brother's house we filled any cracks with a product that I can't remember right now, flex seal will work, then we painted all the stone with Drylok, he ended up putting two coats on and he still gets a little water but nothing like he used to get.

Transitioning to the Bourbon craze over the past 1-2 years? My brother-in-law is crazy about finding rare bourbons and deals on good stuff.
Love a good Bourbon.

It is insane how may different styles of beer they produce and have on tap or in cans. I can't think of anything remotely close. Maybe they have peaked but they keep expanding.
Those guys borrowed ten million to build that facility and paid it off in two years, brilliant business model. I know the banker who handled the loan with these guys. A few more years and these guys can buy an island and retire. All starting in a little building in Monson, MA.

Some parts to move around but doable at 10 days ( lol ) ...
But the tail end of this Euro run is clearly attempting a subsume phase, which are among the most powerful cyclogen mechanism we can find - other than the extraordinarily rare triple stream phases. 1993 March is whopper example of this latter rarity. The Cleveland Super Bomb in Jan 1978 I think was one too. 1978 Feb back here in the E was a two stream but it was on 'roids because it married a weak Miller A response into a Miller B/capture. Kind of a freak
Anyway, that much SPV dislodging is interesting.
I think the 17th ( or is it 16th now?) is in play but it was likely destined to low/middling system. The phase change of the +d(PNA) is time dependent. It changes -1 SD to +1 over about 10 day span... That's not exactly a huge restoral forcing suggestion when it's that gradual. It's intuitive to think of that as a series of events rather than the big dawg. ..
Just thinkin' out loud. That's all predicated on the assumption that current projections don't change ... eek
Love it when Tip has subsume in his posts. Usually means something good.

Something that got me on 10/31/2021 and a relative of mine in Bow a couple years earlier was a plugged outlet to our foundation drains. Both of us ended up with flooded basements after heavy rain storms. His was a good distance from his house and packed with dirt. Mine is very accessible and visible but got plugged with leaves and grass clippings over a 15 year period. Once I got it unplugged, it flowed for DAYS. Basement water level dropped almost immediately.
Not sure if this could be the case for your sister, but it's definitely worth looking into. Very quick and easy fix for a major problem.
I'll mention it to her, she did have a couple guys come look at it and recommended a drain with a sump pump, but I'll let her know, thanks.

My sister has lived in her house in York for 20 years, this is the first year she's been getting water in her basement from groundwater seeping in, she's having a sump pump installed although a year like this may never happen again. She had her basement flood twice later in the summer/fall and today.

I got 12 inches in 3 hours in that storm, it was a great storm here, just didn't have the wind here like 78. It's actually number 2 on my list, someday I hope to have a new number 1.
