I always remember he had a rule of thumb, the high in Burlington in the winter would be the low in Boston. I checked a few times back then and it was close, not sure how often it works out like that though.

    34.5 is my low max

I had a couple mid 30's for highs but nothing below freezing yet, we actually had a thin layer of ice on small ponds at the beginning of the month but that disappeared quickly.

And even pre-TWC (we didn’t get cable until late ‘93 though my grandparents had it a couple years earlier) You would just wait until the local news came on and when you saw the snow symbols on the map you immediately perked up

I remember Don Kents map on a chalkboard and when he drew those snowflakes with white chalk, I got excited.

  4. I was going to stay at Stowe but there's no vacancies but there was a place in Burlington that had an Eclipse package, two nights, some meals included and a bus takes you to the best place to get the full effect, I tried them months ago and they were sold out but I put myself on a waiting list in case some people drop out. Don't like my chances.

I haven't actually seen that yet!  However, we're making it a week's vaca and tour around San Antonio and after the eclipse head over to Austin.   Gallatin ended up being great!    World class experience.

Eagle Pass will be great to watch the eclipse but not sure if there's anything else to do?  Either way, rooms mainly booked.  So we'll get up early and head out.  What a great week it will be!

It's probably better to do it the way you are, you're going to have a much better chance of having clear skies. I'm going to look into and maybe try that way.

My neighbor across the street mowed on the 23rd and said he actually had green grass clippings in the bagger . Never ever did I expect or think folks would be mowing in New England in late December. Typically there’s snow OTG

It's happened before, my neighbor planted new grass and it was still growing near Christmas on year.

The numbers are what the numbers are. There is a reason when we are skunked through December into Jan, the numbers aren’t good. Too much ground to make up.

I don't care if I end up with a total snowfall near my average, I just want a 15-20 incher and a couple moderate storms mixed in. Just want kit to look like winter for a few weeks, is that too much to ask? Of course, I would take one 2-3 footer too.

gonna head to Vermont and cross my fingers that the 30% chance for sunshine happens

I tried booking a place in Vermont, but no one had a vacancy, if I want to see it, I'll have to drive up that morning. Really wanted to make it a 3-day mini vacation but waited too long.

I kind of like it the other way. Big March storm you get tired of shoveling you can say eff it...it'll melt

The April Fool's Day storm, I got 25 inches and didn't shovel, it melted down pretty quick, the day after half melted so I could drive over it.

Could use Rudolph's red nose tonight.  Holy fog.  Just walked the doggo and visibility was about 1/8 of a mile.

Last night I had fog at my place too.
