    I’ve NEVER seen a TV crew stay on a barrier island during a major hurricane with 10-12 foot storm surge. It doesn’t happen. It has never happened even the crazy storm chasers left the barrier islands.

    It had 70 kt (80 mph) sustained when it made landfall in Brigantine, but it was no longer a hurricane at that point. wind speed is not the only factor

    The SW portion of the eyeball is finally appearing to close with colder cloud tops completely filling in now. Let’s see what happens over the next few hours

    I love watching people bash the media when in fact this will be an awful storm. Now some dummies on the main thread walking back their bashing as the IR looks better. Some people never learn. “More reading, less posting” is the old saying and it still applies today

    the 18Z NAM (yes I kn ow its the NAM) is an absolute nightmare taking the eye right on the coast around Wilmington around 39 hrs then paralleling the coast while slowly weakening all the way down to Charleston at 84 hrs.
