It’s the latent heat that will warm all the surfaces extremely fast. Snow to heavy rain will mean very little icing IMO

Two reasons we won’t see much icing. 1. Screaming SE wind will scour away all low level cold quickly and 2. Latent heat release from heavy rain

HA! Yeah, but with it located further west it helps to push it south for a longer period and could keep it from heading north till further east -

How does the GFS and the CMC depict a surface with rain that far inland from a 500mb depiction showing the trough not going negative till past ATL?

On both the GFS and the CMC the 500mb trough doesn't go negative till past Atlanta. There is no way that would be anything other than snow for the PHL region.
