  1. Increase the air pressure. Remember at higher altitudes it takes longer to cook foods? Because lower air pressure = lower boiling point. Higher air pressure, higher freezing point. THIS, is how you get water to freeze at say 45 degrees. We might need to increase the planetary gravity some. Invent gravity plating, or better yet, gravity inducing force fields. I am desperate for snow in the Mid Atlantic.
  2. Larry Cosgrove alludes to 'something special' possibly brewing in the Mid Atlantic associated with the blocking. https://groups.google.com/g/weatheramerica/c/CMQw3ZKTNKc 'In a sense, the south central, Mid-Atlantic and New England states have the chance for "something really special" in terms of precipitation amount and type.'
  3. Dale City averages are starting to rise. You are up to 43/26 now. That's an average high of 43 and an average low of 26.
  4. The Washington DC Metropolitan Region will get obliterated by snow just as surely as Bruce Lee obliterates this chump
  5. Pattern will be ripe for snow in DC. Temps look to be about 35-47 degrees below normal the first ten days of April. High snow rates will overcome the sun angle.
  6. YOU want snow. Head for Mammoth Mountain in Cal. They just got FIVE FEET of fresh pow. Face shots are everywhere. You'll need a snorkel to ski. Or a scuba tank with a regulator. You should see the DRIFTS! They dont get a window of opportunity there. Not one. THE ENTIRE WINTER is opportunity! SIX MONTHS of wall to wall winter, deep snow and 90 mph blizzards! They get so damned much snow, and it is so damned COLD, that they actually had patches of snow at high els that made it all the way to late November when the new snow arrived! This resort makes the Northeast look like the Florida Panhandle! When I DIE, I want to go to Mammoth Lakes. It's pure HEAVEN!
  7. I thought I read somewhere that Feb needs to be punted. Its the first ten days of March that's our opportunity window for snow.
  8. Tracker needs to allow us to enlarge text in posts. I want to scream FOLKS in 12 mile high font. This is the storm. Central VA is going to get totally obliterated.
  9. Their pump is so damned short, it's gonna take the Virginia National Guard til September to find that pump, the snow is gonna be so deep lol
  10. Guys! Really gotta see this! That wind is blowing all that dry snow at 14 degrees right off the 4 foot deep snowpack and onto the parking lot! Its still snowing and it is keeping the plow guy on his toes! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/woolly-cam
  11. The Pac-Arabic jet extension swept it away.
  12. This aint 1969 anymore. Someone is on serious, serious happy pills.
  13. Meanwhile....... in other news! It is POURING SNOW AGAIN, in Mammoth!!! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/main-lodge They just cannot keep that parking lot clear of fresh snow! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/woolly-cam ANOTHER 8 inches, on top of the 58 they already have! That's just THIS storm!
  14. The Mid Atlantic may have the winter of 2010 incoming in late Feb thru March 25. You guys may be buried up to your roofs in deep snow. But in south Texas, there are major signs that it is already mid April. The southeasterlies are getting established. I am becoming frantic as I attempt to get spring preparations done in early February. Weeds are rampant. Grasses are growing as though it were already April 25. The eastern US may about to be plunged into frigid winter with record historic snows in a couple of weeks, but we here are pretty sure it is spring already, and this is early even for us. I spent three hours trying to mow my 12 inch lawn. This is ridonculous for this time of year. I am already in short sleeved shirts and inhaling huge amounts of sweet iced tea, trying to stay cool in early Feb. Enjoy your deep winter, Mid Atlantic! You guys are gonna get obliterated by snow soon, as we pass all the moisture up to you and it interacts with all the frigid air on the other side of the Continent!
