  1. I like to track the new daily averages to include 2020. For what it’s worth, from July 1-19 the 1981-2020 average high is 89.2. A lot more goes into it than simple averaging but there are eight individual days with rounded average high temps over 90. There’s even one day with an average high of 92 but frustratingly, another with an average of 87. It will be close to see if we crack 90 on any days in the official climo.
  2. Roasting even with the clouds.
  3. 89 at the 10am ob is solid.
  4. We may have nabbed an 80 degree low if it holds today.
  5. Satellite shows additional clearing. This is our final shot.
  6. Starting out from a low that is 4 degrees warmer than yesterday. We’ve got this. Go go go!
  7. We need the entire month of 90/70 or more.
  8. This is the ultimate jinx but with the low this morning of 71 we have decent shot to quickly climb into the Top 10 for consecutive number of nights with a low >= 70 at DCA. Tonight and tomorrow night will be close but then we take off from there.
  9. I thought today would have been easily safe. Obs and sky cover show today was a squeaker.
  10. We did it at the 5pm ob.
  11. I'm glad we got there but sad the suspense is over.
  12. 33.4 inside the beltway three miles from DCA and their 39 (based on the hourlies).
  13. A solid 1/4-1/2” in Shirlington. Best snow of the year.
  14. I can’t find the post but wasn’t it mentioned here there are very few (or maybe even no) instances of DC getting more than 8-10” and NYC getting nothing?
  15. With only very light radar returns over me, managed to add about 0.3” over the last three hours. Puts my total to just over 10”.
  16. Light snow picking up with the return of some greens on radar. I may make it to 10” if this can continue.
  17. Am I hallucinating or is the radar showing some signs of life for the DC - Dale City dry slot?
  18. There are two in the area, one of them is mine. Although poor siting (I don’t have much of a yard) means it sometimes runs warm during the day.
