Haven't seen sleet on my side of town. All snow and coming down good

Moderate to heavy snow now in Mooresville. We never saw rain or sleet. Started as snow

Yeah flakes first started falling here 15 minutes ago and now they are falling at a moderate rate. Almost moderately heavy and that band hasn't arrived yet

Mooresville getting ready to see a burst of heavy snow in the next 30 minutes. Heavy band moving NE from Gastonia to Lincolnton

And 3 minutes after I sent that, I have snowflakes reaching the ground at my place.

Right now there's a heavy band moving through Gastonia heading our way. Should reach us in the next 30 minutes or so. We should see precipitation with that. If not, I'm not sure what's going on above our heads.

Me either. Ever. During winter storms Mooresville always goes to snow quickly. Tonight it's like Mooresville has its own micro-climate above the town. Places all around are reporting rain, sleet or snow but Mooresville hasn't had any precipitation fall. Its really strange.

Radar shows snow above Mooresville but its not reaching the ground.

Amazing the pocket of air above Mooresville is so dry that precipitation hasn't reached the ground while nearby areas to the south, west & north are reporting snow. Its become an island. Not sure what that means for the next 12 hours.

Radar showing snow now over the top of Mooresville for the first time but its not reaching the ground. Just stepped outside and air is much colder than it was a couple hours ago. My guess is just a matter of 20 or 30 minutes before I start seeing snow.

Radar returns currently show heavy snow over Spartanburg. Don't know what those on the ground are seeing.

The rain arrived and drove the temperatures down

I can't speak for the temp profile but it is my understanding that the RGEM is good with PTYPE

Those are expected totals as of 7pm Saturday night. According to models, storm doesn't start cranking for another 9 to 12 hours
