  1. Approaching an inch here at Balsam Gap, definitely an overachiever for my area than what the forecast said earlier today.
  2. Ran to Best Buy and it was flurrying, come out and my truck bed cover had a nice coating. Light snow at the house, already got the dusting I thought I’d receive for the event so a win in my book.
  3. Got a trace of graupel and snow, can see the clouds from that band SW just mentioned heading my way. Anything that falls from here on out will be sticking instantly.
  4. Great pic and looks like I need to come hunt the public adjacent to Wolf Laurel next year lol. Dandruff flakes falling now here off and on.
  5. It has been the past few weeks and was this morning, but it’s likely they closed it already with the forecast. Might make a run over to Max Patch.
  6. Clouds darkened and I got graupel falling, just getting ready to see if I could drive up The parkway to waterrock.
  7. Another event where I’ll manage flurries to a dusting, maybe I’ll be able to reach the 1” mark for the season if I’m lucky. Just not situated in an area for NWFS to accumulate. Hope Buckethead, Met, Joe and you guys up in the High Country score a decent event.
  8. I’d like to see a closer look at the mountains, hard to map out ridge tops and higher elevations that far zoomed out and smoothed out. Puts me at around 2’ a year which seems to be correct lately from what I’ve gathered but also less than there used to be from what I’ve heard from residents too.
  9. Thanks. Yeah, I usually pull it for hunting reasons but I’m going fishing or hunting anytime I can no matter what that says lol. Always a good thing to look at and see, I need to start keeping a journal and recording things like weather conditions, moon position/phase, time, etc
  10. Use solunar forecast all the time just to check moon overhead/underfoot times and just to compare “best times” to what I see in the field. Had a good couple hours on Fontana the other afternoon before all the rain came, ended up with like 10 bass or so and another 5 bites I missed or lost. Here’s the best, a spot around 2 lb, also caught a smallmouth/meanmouth that same size too. All you need is a ned rig out there and fish it parallel to steep rock banks, about guaranteed to get a bite.
  11. When I was walking the dogs when it started sounded like a few pellets were mixed in.
  12. 37 degrees and light rain, sorry for undoubtedly bringing cold rain with me from Charlotte when I moved back in February. It must follow me around.
  13. I catch a glimpse of lighting down to my southwest every now and again, big flash just now actually along with thunder. The storm is here.
  14. Woke up to a about the same Met, drove through snow last night from Williamsburg, KY to Newport, TN, then it was a rain/snow mix from there to about Fines Creek (that was due to rates it seemed). So figured we would see something once moisture got over the mountains.
  15. Fines Creek exit area to just past the rest area had 1-2” it looked like to me, Harmon’s Den around an inch with less and less the further on 40 you went and then basically from exit 4 to the state line There was nothing down at the interstate and you could see the snow line anywhere from 100-300’ up the mountain on either side. Always a cool drive through the gorge.
  16. Iron Duff area looks about the same but just flurries/very light snow falling. Hopping on 40 after getting gas, we’ll see what the Harmon Den/Waterville area looks like.
  17. What I would call a partial dusting here with flurries falling. Truck thermometer says 28 degrees. Radar looks like going through the gorge later is gonna bs interesting.
  18. Surprised we are already clouded up thick here and getting a rain/snow/sleet mix on my end of Haywood. Didn’t think it would be this quick. Edit - and just liked that I can see stars and it’s stopped but can also see clouds starting to streaming back over. Will be interesting what I wake up to and drive through on my way to Ohio tomorrow.
  19. Wind has really picked up in the past hour or two. You can hear the occasional roar across the tree tops when it really gets gusty. And with that wind you can see the moisture getting transported and those classic snow shower looking clouds starting to form.
  20. Heck I’m above 3000’ in Haywood in the Balsams and don’t expect more than an inch, if that. Just not confident when it comes to flow snow here due to where we are at the base of a 6000’-er. The Smokies look to get smoked (cue drum roll), I’d love to be on LeConte tonight and tomorrow. Met looks to do good though, along with Buckethead and Joe.
  21. Thunderstorm moving through here, lots of lightning with it.
  22. Truck thermometer says 11 degrees. Had a trace of snow on the deck and vehicles, flurries stuck once the sun went down it seems. Inversion up high like Buckethead has, low 20’s up on Lynn Lowry.
